How will Bush justify going back on his word regarding a military draft? |

Make predictions now for future reference.

5. Another major attack would do the trick |
|
9/11 apparently gave him the right to go back on most of his major 2000 campaign promises, except tax cuts, I would think another attack should let him get away with anything else he needs.

all he has to do is use the word 'values' and stand behind a pulpit, uh, i mean lectern...
maybe with "Onward Christian Soldiers" playing in the background. That song should be his theme song.

10. It won't be a "military draft". A phrase Bush always used. |

It will be a "Homeland draft". It may be hidden somewhere in the "Patriot Act".

He hasn't had to justify a single fucking thing since he stole the presidency (the first time). What makes you think he'll have to?

14. There won't be a draft. |
|
They can't get away with that. They'll just find a way to tuck tail and pull out of Iraq within the next year. The job won't be done, the country will still be in chaos, and Republicans everywhere will support it, completely immune to everything Bush had said in the past few months.

|

He'll just ignore ever having said he wouldn't do it, and he'll give it an Orwellian name so he can claim it really isn't a draft anyhow. And by the way, just today the Selective Service published a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in the Federal Register that would merge the computer databases of the SS and the Dept. of Education. This way, the Selective Service could prevent students who haven't registered for the draft from getting student loans. The draft is coming... count on it.
