2. Not sure I have any choice ...
... but to not shop. Not much disposable income. But I'll call it a boycott nevertheless. :bounce:

3. have you ever heard of adbusters.com?
You'd love this site and the mag. They have a "buy nothing" day, the day after thanksgiving to protest mass consumerism.

8. I like your site, GreenPartyVoter!
I sent links to it to my friends and family. Hope this doesn't mess you up on bandwidth! :-)

I'm making most of my Christmas gifts this year. Of course, I have to buy the raw materials, but I'm getting them from progressive sources and/or small, local businesses.

9. Thanks. If the site is "missing" due to bandwidth it'll reset later on.

6. The financial news on PBS tonight forecasts good holiday shopping
for retailers that cater to the affluent, but they're uncertain about the retailers for the rest of the population.

Between the net loss of jobs and the uncertainty of the future, a downturn in holiday shopping wouldn't surprise me. We're cutting back out of economic necessity and neither I or my wife have lost our jobs. It's just getting tighter with increasing health care costs, increasing heating and gasoline prices, increasing food prices and other common items.

7. No choice.....
Bush* economy means no Christmas celebration/gifts for me. But, perhaps that is appropriate-- more meaningful for true Christians anyway.
