I am in pain (rant warning)
I have not posted here since Monday night. On Tuesday, I had a afternoon medical appointment, with a drive back home in traffic. I spent the time in car listening to Air America, from 230pm (PST) to 330pm, then again from 5pm to 7pm (I hate traffic). I got home, kissed my wife, then walked to my polling place where I voted (straight Democratic Ticket) and for the various California propositions.
I then came home to cruise the net for results. It was about 730pm.

At 8pm, I found out we were behind. I gave up in disgust at 930, playing computer games until I went to bed at 1030.
The next morning, I logged in and found out we were hanging by a thread. By noon, the thread was cut.

We had been beaten.

I work on a Naval Base. How fitting. My co-workers are a mix of contractors and government employees. For the past several years, the government employees have been losing thier jobs to contractors. Part of the effort to privatize the military's support services.

One of my coworkers is a obnoxious Republican. A government employee, he is glad that "Scary" (his word) lost, because he did not want the defense of his country left to a "Traitor". He is glad Daschle lost because "He's evil. I don't have any proof, but my gut says so."
I could go on with his opinions, but it's not needed, is it? We all know the type.

He got his notice today, his job is gone, replaced by one of us "Damned Contractors."

And I told him he got what he wanted. He didn't understand. You voted for Bush I told him. Bush is the one eliminating the government jobs and replacing them with contractors. Obviously you wanted your job taken away by a contractor, so why are you whining.
He said it wasn't Bush's fault, it was the Defense Department.
And who is in charge of the Defense Department? Why, Rumsfeld. It's Rumsfeld's fault he told me, not Bush's.
Who appointed Rumsfeld? Who stood by him when he got caught covering up the crimes of Abu Graib? Who put Rumsfeld in a position of power where he could have you replaced?
You don't get my sympathy when you get fired by the guy you wanted in charge.

And that is my attitude. If you voted for Bush and the Republicans, and something bad happens to you that is the fault of the U.S. Government, or something that the government could have made easier for you but Bush cut that program, tough shit. You voted for him, he had you fired, fuck you. No sympathy.

Another coworker, a politer Republican, suffers from health problems. She's also a government worker, and has been warned that if she takes anymore leave for medical reasons, even unpaid leave, she'll be replaced. And she's angry. And I told her 'aren't you glad Bush won?' And then I spelled it out for her: This is exactly what Bush wants; for you to vote for him in spite of the fact that he doesn't give a shit about you and your health problems, for you to vote for him even as he arranges to have you fired, to vote for him even as he threatens to cut your health care. Well, you must have wanted it that way. So why are you bitching.

Yes, I'm bitter. How many times do these fools have to be kicked in the head before they realize that the guy that's kicking them is the same one they voted into power?

My cousing in Florida, if you email me again about how the government is making it harder for you to get your disablity care? Fuck you, you voted to have your disability care cut.

My Navy buddy, who complains that VA takes forever to process your claims? Fuck you, you voted to have VA cut.

My stepfather, who voted for Bush because of the 'welfare queens' and 'Mexcans' and 'Vie'mese' who are cheating this country, I don't want to here you say jack shit about how your social security is less than promised. You voted for him, you screwed yourself.

Fuck All Of Them.

No Quarter. NO QUARTER!
You damn well earned your fate!
Give Busco my compliments,
HE PUT YOU IN THIS STATE!

1. This is the 2nd beautiful freepers-get-fucked story today.
Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 09:25 PM by LibertyChick
It touched me.

I love stories like this, and hope to share a few of my own in the future.

I'm sorry you're in pain, HH. Thank you for sharing this.

The karma is coming a LOT faster than I thought.

Do you think * held back on a lot of outsourcing of jobs until the day or so after the election?

:hi:

2. I'd like to be generous and say forgive them for they know not what they
do, but they do know and are not deserving of pity or forgiveness.

As you sow, so shall you reap, and the reaping is only beginning.

Let them wallow in the puddle of shit they've created for themselves.

I say the liberal bleeding hearts have been bled dry.

Here is another wonderful story of the liberal gravy train of compassion coming to a screeching halt, by GTRMAN:

15. And don't forget to add:
If they lose their government job-"This is the BEST job you ever had, and you will never have as good a job. It's all downhill from here, son. AND- if you're middle-aged or older, well, suck it up."

9. Hawker, All The Votes Haven't Been Counted Yet!
and the E-Voting fraud is beginning to become extremely obvious and DOCUMENTED.

Not to get false hope up... but let's make sure all the votes are fully and accurately counted.

23. I found a similar cartoon...
and I wish I could find it again. It went something like:

"Well, I'm unemployed, my kids have no health insurance, my property and state taxes are through the roof, my brother's back in Iraq the third time in 2 years, but thank God men can't get married to each other."

I cannot wrap my mind around the insanity of these morans (sic) who consistently vote against their own self-interests. Has the national water supply gotten THAT polluted? (I don't drink the stuff myself, it rusts the pipes) (we need some kind of icon for "wry ironic semi-grin")
:eyes:
I guess that's close enuf'

13. Totally feel you...
I post on a women's health forum from time to time. I've noticed that several posters who complain they either can't afford healthcare and don't have insurance, or can't get good quality healthcare, also have pro-Chimp GIFs in their sig line.

Believe it or not, a lot of them post their sometimes VERY personal health questions on the board. Because our community's the only healthcare they can afford, or because the misogynistic moron who's the sole specialist in their area keeps shrugging off their concerns. But even still, the Chimp '04 GIFs and the smarmy "Remember 9/11!!" slogans remain in their sigs, often blinking garishly. :eyes:

I take some wicked comfort in knowing that if they're stupid enough to vote against their own interests, at least they're in poor enough health that maybe they'll kick off soon, and stop voting.

16. "Remember 9/11" is NOT pro Bush sentiment
OK, for a lot of people it is, but when Bushies use it on my, I rub thier face in it.

"Who carried out the 9/11 attacks? Where is he now? He was never in fucking Iraq, was he. The 19 guys who did it, where were they from? None from fucking Iraq, were there? Who was in charge when the attacks occured? Why was he sitting in a classroom for 7 minutes while people died? WHY THE FUCK DO YOU THINK THAT BUSH IS GOING TO DO JACK SHIT ABOUT THE GUYS WHO MURDERED 3000 AMERICANS IN THE NEXT FOUR YEARS WHEN HE HASN'T DONE JACK ABOUT THEM FOR THE LAST THREE?"

in the past couple of days? I find this post and your story of the day's events strangely gratifying, probably because I'm over the shock. I'm am very angry right now.

My attitude is less eloquent than yours. It's simply 'Fuck 'em.' No exclaimation point. Just 'Fuck 'em.'

We've suffered these past 4 years, and we grew some. Now it's their turn. We know what's coming. They don't. Fuck 'em.

29. Some freeper at my husband's job was going on about
abortion and how it was "morally" wrong and that is why he voted for the chimp. Having had enough, my husband printed out some PNAC literature for the moran. Told him to sit down and read just the first paragraph and asked him to see if any names were recognizable to him. The moran did recognize several names. Freaked the bushbot out. He ran around showing the other bushbots and now they're all freaked. Oh and he also told them to get ready for a draft if they're under the age of 34.

22. No better way to educate people
than by personal example -- in this case their own. I think you are absolutely doing the right thing. And I thank you.

On another note, I'm simply stunned by the guy who wanted to separate Rumsfeld's actions from Bush's respnsibility. Unbelievable. I've been defending (most) Americans for being ill-informed (and severely propagandized), not dumb. But in his case I might have to make an exception.

25. Dear HH
The pain has not yet subsided with me. I gave this election everything I could. I feel guilty for not manning the phones in the last hour, even though there were no phone lines left open. I feel guilty for not recognizing the power of the push poll I got about two weeks before the election.

Tomorrow I have to address the wife of a vet who called HQ last week telling the story about their family. Husband was a career soldier who was forced into disability before his term was up. He got what she called a generous severence pay, and now is having his regular pay cut until he fulfills the time he enlisted for. They are struggling to make ends meet. She works part time. He is disabled. I don't know where I'm going with this story , but I will be contacting her again tomorrow to talk more.

I'm very sorry that I wasn't able to deliver Ohio for you and my other dear DU friends. Please know that I will continue the struggle as long as my mind and body hold together. Anna

34. Do not blame yourself
the mix of things that cost us this election is long... Bin Laden's campaign commercial for Bush, the psuedoChristian churches violating campaign laws, the 'it's OK to hate gays' legislation... that a individual on our side didn't fail so much as been overwhelmed.

But do continue the struggle. This is not over.

No Quarter.

The first thing my sister said when she came to visit me last month was how sad it was that they were doing clear cutting here too, just like in the south. And she has voted for Republicans for years. I have no patience with them anymore either. I just do not understand why they cannot see.

31. You have defined our task
for the coming years. It will be up to us to point out the connections between bush policies and the suffering of our fellow humans. We have to say it over and over again until it gets through - God knows they have an army of people giving them twisted logic that leads them to blame the dems for their problems.

They could care less about corporate connections and scandals - if it doesn't have sex they are not interested.

We must speak directly and keep it short, as you did in your post - until the rw has to explain their actions.

Liked your post a lot!
