"Idiotic, cracker-ass, snakehandling supporters of George Bush..." |

Nobody can string the epithets like Janene Garofalo. She and Sam just went off on one of those shreiking things they do. I'm laughing like a fool.
I needed that. :)

2. Speaking of cracker -ass, snakehandling supporters |
|
of George Bush...Zell Miller comes to mind. I am sooooooo off the reservation when it comes to reading the diabolical mind of Karl Rove. I thought that Zell would be yanked off the campaign immediately after his meltdown at the RNC convention, never to appear again next to the Shrub.
He was apparently very effective for getting out the cracker-ass vote.
Do we need our own raving maniac cracker-asses next time around? Holy cowabunga...I'll have to hide my face in shame.

3. Rove knows his cracker asses |

Should we get some? I don't think we have any. We'll have to contract it out. ;)
Or, ooh, I know -- we have actors! They can play raving maniac cracker-asses!

4. I said this immediately after seeing Zell at the convention and was |
|
chastised for saying that this was exactly the vote he was pandering to. I knew what they were doing and it was effective. We've got to really rethink our strategy and ground game if we are ever to win our country back. Obviously, I'm not suggesting that we need a Zell Miller, but we've definitely got to reach out more to middle America. The other party has successfully defined us and we have not taken the ball and defined ourselves. This is how we lose. Now the question is who can effectively deliver this message and how....?

7. We've got to put more people like Barack Obama and others like |
|
him who appeal to a wider audience and are not afraid to speak of their faith. We've also got to get moderate southerners, (twang doesn't hurt either) to step up and speak out to middle america. Perhaps what hurt Kerry the most is that ultimately, more people felt a sense of connection (very warped I know) to GWB than to our candidate. And we have to face the fact that establishing that connection is an important part of getting the vote out.

8. I can see that I won't be much help in this area.... |
|
John and Teresa Kerry looked and sounded like 'family' to me.
I'd be very curious to learn how red staters felt about Barack's speech at the DNC convention. I mean, are we kidding ourselves? Did the average bible thumping 'values' voter really cotton to Obama?
Sorry, I think I dragged your lighthearted thread into serious waters.
