Something a little strange...

...Yesterday I came across a news story-

http://www.kctv5.com/Global/story.asp?s=8945

Don't bother clicking the link because the story is gone.

The story was :

Underground Explosion in Leavenworth-
... and said the explosion was related to the citys major power outage on the same day. The TV stations news van was on the way to the scene and updates would be coming soon.

Within hours the story was removed completely.

So I called the TV station and asked about the story and after at first not knowing anything and then some hemming and hawing the fellow who answered the phone said it had simply been a manhole cover which was blown apart and effected the power for the city.

Why wouldn't they have just updated the story with the addition of the manhole bit instead of removing the story completely?

It just seemed strange to me. It also scared me a bit to think the media, even the local yokel stations, would be blacking out certain stories that might be terror/election protest related. Keep the sheep calm sort of thing.

Anyone from that area witness anything? Did anyone else see or hear this story or am I just going insane?

3. Yes, that's what kinda strange....
....

When I called the station I first tried the main number which rang off the hook (913-677-5555) so then I tried the "news assignment desk" number (913-677-7211) and that's when I got ahold of the guy who told me about the manhole cover.

2. This has happened over and over again, you may have missed it.
Censorship has been massive since even before 9/11.
