My Dream of a Liberal Media that is run by Citizens
This is possible.

How can it be done?

1. With Blogs.

2. With P2P Networks.

1. Blogs - You can make a blog today, it's easy and free. Getting stories is also easy, you can just look at the 'Latest News' section of DU.

2. P2P Netorks - You can also download a P2P Client easily and it is also free. You can easily download a collection of Anti-Bush documents, and then you can share them with the world.

1. 3. local media co-ops
that was brought up in some other threads, so a search

as for the p2p things, projects are out there (just getting started) that provide the infrastructure for distribution of community developed content.

said something interesting in an interview...something about a big time network that is neither liberal or conservative, rep. or dem, left or right...simply one that honestly reports the news.
Blogs and community access are fine..but it seems to be in a sense still preaching to the choir.
there are alot of goodhearted people out there who just believe what they see on TV. I saw them crying in the lobby after they saw F9/11. "I just didn't know"...I never saw that on TV."
They are trapped in a belief system."It's bad to be a queer, killing babies is bad, there's the good guys and the bad guys and we are the good guys and we need guns to protect us against the bad guys". Changing these beliefs is part of the task at hand.
Frankly i do believe that Fox news has implanted "subliminal messages" and that the vast public has been effectively "brainwashed". I have no particular solution...it will take alot of careful thought by better minds than mine.
