So what iOhio went blue?
Kerry rolled over. He promised to fight and appears now to either be a wuss or a liar/partner of a one party rule sham. So even if he turned out to win, does it matter? This is the wake up call. RATHER it is the snooze alarm going off AGAIN. Went off when Bubba was impeached, when * stole 2000, when MIHOP in 2001 and now the sham of 2004.

Wake up. Time to get up.

5. Exactly the concession is just a formality
It's the electoral college that doesn't meet for awhile that seals the deal.

Prove enough little instances of fraud and you have another Watergate

8. Why concede if you don't mean it???
This is getting silly. Fact is kerry refused to fight and made us all look like weaklings. Another democrat afraid of being called a sore loser. He should have said - "Hell yes i'm a sore loser and proud of it. I was robbed and now i'm gonna fight for what's mine."

10. I think he did the right thing....
The concession speech is meaningless in its power to bind. However, if one considers that the spotlight would have been squarely on any official recount activities (with possibly the same gang of thugs we saw last time), the concession makes perfect sense. The spotlight is off, and Kerry and his lawyers are essentially free to do their investigation unhindered. Kerry does NOT desert people!

14. The way this nation is split that would have started a civil war.

We are at war already with another country. He is watching it. You can bet on it. We need to do our part and keep up the pressure to count the votes and point out the inaccuracies.

and publicize it

4. a "concession speech" does not trump voting...
if Ohio is overturned, Kerry wins. Just say, "oops," and move into the White House.

I am reading online that the EC meets "the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December." How weird is that schedule?

13. I think that's right.
So to those of you calling Kerry a defeatist and giving up because of the concession speech, YOU are defeatist. There is evidence of fraud and if you don't want to pursue it, then quit bitching about Kerry. I agree that he might well have conceded to keep the battle low-key until we have evidence of fraud to bring forward.

PLUS, we (DU) discovered the fraud in Gahanna, OH and got the word out to the press. Today it is being carried on the AP!!!

We need to overturn the assumption that we got our asses kicked fairly. Most of us agree there was some type of fraud and unless you want this to continue in 2008 and so on, forward this fact to your local news and all the democrats you know.

17. Look carefully at what Eliz. Edwards wrote to US (at DU):
But today I want to share something inspiring, part of a letter from Thomas Jefferson. This is from the new Bernstein biography of Jefferson. Jefferson sent the letter in 1798 after the passage of the Sedition Act:

"A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles. It is true that in the meantime we are suffering deeply in spirit, and incurring the horrors of a war and long oppressions of enormous public debt. If the game runs sometimes against us at home we must have patience till luck turns, and then we shall have an opportunity of winning back the principles we have lost, for this is a game where principles are at stake."

...and hey, even if it doesn't work out, it's enough of a distraction to ease me into "the agony of defeat," instead of just plummeting straight in without any hope at all... :D
