Unless we are hacked out again, we will begin releasing documents this evening. It will be drip drip drip, not a knockout punch.

Very small drips, not because we are trying to stall, but because many of the problem documents beget FOIAs for additional, related documents to rule out the bullshit excuses. In many cases we need to avoid calling attention to what we are looking at until we close the exit doors entirely.

But you can expect interesting reading, though the parts we can release at this time without jeopardizing other stuff will appear nonconclusive.

Heh.

Heh heh.

109. Let me do my best to explain....
First of all, welcome to DU!

Second, there are a few people on this board that are more well known than others and one of the big ones is Bev Harris, the woman who started this thread. She took the initiative a few years ago to investigate black box voting - voting machines with no paper trail, and with the help of others, uncovered a ton of horrible information about the companies who make these machines...both their utter lack of security (easily hackable) and the slimey people who run these companies (some have served jail time for fraud in the past and the CEO of one company promised to deliver Ohio to Bush in 2004 - which, apparently, he did)

Go to the site she linked on her post, it'll have more info than I could possibly give right now.

As far as understanding the thread, it's about information that will be slowly leaking concerning voter fraud in this election. The "drip drip drip" refers to a slow leak.

I hope this post was helpful to you. :hi:

214. BEV -Palm Beach County Logs 88,000 More Votes Than Voters
Palm Beach County Logs 88,000 More Votes Than Voters

According to the official election results posted on the Palm Beach County election website, 542,835 ballots were cast for a presidential candidate while only 454,427 voters turned out for the election (including absentee). This leaves a discrepancy of 88,408 votes cast for the presidential candidates.

Palm Beach County's supervisor of elections is Theresa LePore who is known for the 2000 Presidential Election and the notorious "butterfly ballot" that caused confusion among seniors and other Floridians.

Other election oddities occurred throughout Florida with some counties registering a 400% increase in expected voter turnout among Republicans while Democrats supposedly experienced a -60% decline in expected support in certain counties. The 50+ counties experiencing the high percentage fluctuations in expected turnout used optical scan voting machines on November 2nd.

Vote discrepancies were also found in Gahanna, Ohio which gave an extra 4,000 votes to President Bush. The error was explained away by Franklin County administrators as a "glitch" in the electronic voting system.

Developing. .

33. Conceding an election is NOT LEGALLY BINDING.
It is a strictly political act, with no legal or electoral ramifications.

Believe me, if an investigation or a recount starts turning in Kerry's favor, he'll retract his concession pretty damn quickly.

Kerry has been accused of nut-case, tin-foil hat conspiracy mongering before - several times - and now the 'conspiracies theories' he investigated are part of the public record.

Iran-Contra

Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI)

Vietnam POW-MIA

All were dismissed as too improbable, only to investigated by Kerry, who brought out the truth, much to everyone's surprise.

115. Did you read where Bev said some questions need to stay quiet
until we get all of the answers we can pry out of the system? Well, I think it's possible that Kerry is doing the same thing on a grander scale. Making nice while the investigation goes on quietly under the radar. If we get a circus like Florida in 2000, we will never get any answers. Besides, a concession is not binding. If fraud (or a 'mistake') is proven, he'll be president.

Just MHO, of course.

People keep thinking this is about Kerry or Bush. They stole from ME. The did not provide equal protection to ME. They are cheating ME. Kerry can jump on the bandwagon or give up, I don't care, because this is all about ME. And YOU, and everyone else in America.

And hey, Freepers, if Bush can do it, so can our guy next time, so this is about YOU, too, whether you have the foresight to accept that now, or not.

If it should turn out that Ohio went the other way, Kerry will be elected President, regardless of whether or not he conceded the race. And I would suspect that he will unconcede quite quickly if recounts, provisionals, etc., suddenly show him in the lead.

I can remember hearing about it from my Poli-Sci professor in the late 70s, but the source material (textbook) is long gone. One of the textbooks had a chapter called "Republicrats and Demopublicans" if that's any help.

I've tried to Google it 50 different ways, but all I get is @#&# Al Gore/GW stuff from 2000. Until I can find the source, I have to retract. Apologies for not doing the footwork first.

57. Nostamj, I think it needs to be more clear
..although that makes the visual busier.

Could clear it up by saying:

Fighting vote fraud
www.blackboxvoting.org

Have to keep in mind that most people out there are not as up to speed as the DU'ers.

My first response, if I act like I don't know anything, is, "What Fraud?" and "What has fraud got to do with BBV.org?"

the text is EXACTLY what Bev asked for in an earlier thread. I only worked on the design elements... she was VERY specific. i goofed the first time and had to re-do everything to match her request...

maybe the idea (kinda like ?W) is to make people ASK?

I'm fine with re-doing it as often as necessary, but she wanted THIS today....

25. Great, Bev -- Go, Go, Go!
We need the same type of specifics that there were in Florida last time. This time around there's a network of activists and a greater openness in the general public to believing that fraud is possible.

I hope that those who believe the election was stolen can hold off until Bev is able to present a full range of data.

35. Bev, tell me if you are looking at this
Flordia ballots show huge (and I mean HUGE) numbers of DEMS supposedly voting for Bush in very Dem counties. That is indicative of wholesale theft of this election! My partner spent hours crunching numbers last night and there is no doubt - they stole FL and they probably stole Ohio as well. Trust me, we are NOT the conspiracy theorist types, and even on Wed I posting here saying "take off the tin foil hat" to people who automatically assumed it was stolen.

But it was. It really was. Check here.

http://ustogether.org/Florida_Election.htm

That link shows the results compared to the registered dems and reps per county. And it shows that massive numbers of dems supposedly voted for Bush.

It's just not possible that 40 and 50% of registered dems voted for Bush, but ONLY in optical scan counties. For one thing, the exit polls and pre-election polls would have reflected a massive movement for Bush from Dems. This is fraud!

I don't know how to post a spreadsheet here, but here is a summary of how they did Florida:

Summary

-- In 13 of 15 touchscreen voting counties in Florida, Dems gained over what would be expected looking at just registration percentages –more than just Dems voted for Kerry in these counties

-- But in only 7 of 52 optical scanner voting counties (15%), Dems gained over what would be expected looking at registration percentages - this seems a little odd

-- In the touchscreen counties, the average gain was 8% over what you would expect based on Dem registration, including all 15 counties

--In the optical scanner counties, the average loss was 16.6% under what you would expect based on dem registration, including all 52 counties

-- If you apply the 8% average plus the expectations based on registration that was seen in the touchscreen counties to the optical scanner counties where we saw losses in the Dem column, it's a total of 281,143.

If you add this number to Kerry’s total, and subtract this number from Bush’s…

Method
Bush Votes
Kerry Votes

Subtotal
Touchscreen
1,845,876
1,982,210

Subtotal
Op-Scan-Precinct
1,950,213
1,445,675

Adjustment

-281,143
+281,143

Corrected Subtotal
Op-Scan-Precinct
1,668,730
1,727,158

Corrected Total
All Methods
3,514,606 - Bush
3,709,368 - Kerry

And guess what, when you correct, it matches the exit polls!

If we could get the paper ballots rescanned in Florida with machines that had been actually checked to make sure they was no fraud going on, you would see that Kerry very likely won this election.

39. More than fraud
Whatever machinations have occurred with BBV, and Ive little doubt that there are such, this is only a part of the thievery of the electoral process.

Rove has used such as the Swift Boat Veterans, whose outright lies are both outrageous, contributory to the election results and deniable by the GOP and Rove himself. He has used religious groups to spread false information about Kerry and other democrats by leafleting cars parked in church lots for Sunday services. He has authored, from afar, the intimidation of Native American and Afro American voters into staying away from the polls. He has installed as election overseers chairman and co chairmen of the republican reelection committees in several so-called swing states.

Our democracy is under attack by this student of Joseph Goebbels and ,while Bev's work is very, very important it is only one effort in a war to save democracy. We should not narrow our focus and lose sight of the scope of the problem.

112. hmmm...
... the native american vote (at least in NM) was pretty fired up this year. especially after tom delay's comments. i was at one of the local reservations out here when joe shirley, president of the navajo nation, endorsed john kerry. don't give KKKarl that much credit... they got to the polls alright.

and while i kind of see what you mean, i can't see how focussing on the current fraud will in any way detract from the efforts people are making to keep the likes of rove from taking over our country.

the votes got there, DESPITE THE NEOCONS BEST EFFORTS! we're talking the largest number of votes AGAINST a president ever! i think that deserves some focussed attention, and in my opinion, it in no way takes the scope off of the real problem. it's just one more way to take them down.

just my $.02

118. How many votes DIDNT get there
Is the question we should be asking.......I am uncertain as to your take on this election, do you think that every vote was counted, that every voter was not intimidated in some way as to decide not to vote after all?

Kerry got, by estimate five million NEW votes (those that didnt vote in the previous election...Bush got 8 million of those 13 million new voters...Does that actually sound right to you?

I hope that independent groups will take long hard looks at both Florida and Ohio voting.......including that precinct wherein 500 people voted and 4200 votes for Bush were recorded......

121. no, it was good turnout
at least locally.

the reservation in our county at least is basically singlehandedly responsible for electing all the local dem. candidates.

there were lawyers on the res. not only from the dem. party but from all kinds of independent groups. there were several different groups of people taking them to the polling place in vans and busses...

that's what i meant when i said they were fired up.

and i thought i was the one who was arguing that it's worthwhile to make sure every vote got counted. the ONLY thing i was suggesting is that, at least in our county, the rovian "keep minorities afraid of going to the polls" tactic didn't work.

and i never suggested that that's true everywhere.

i was simply suggesting that it's perfectly reasonable to focus sharply on voter fraud. seems that you agree... i think?

You're right, and that was a good summation. We have to be working on ALL of them.

72. "Broward machines count backward" ..palm beach news article here
Broward machines count backward

By Eliot Kleinberg

Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

Friday, November 05, 2004

FORT LAUDERDALE — It had to happen. Things were just going too smoothly.

Early Thursday, as Broward County elections officials wrapped up after a long day of canvassing votes, something unusual caught their eye. Tallies should go up as more votes are counted. That's simple math. But in some races, the numbers had gone . . . down.

Officials found the software used in Broward can handle only 32,000 votes per precinct. After that, the system starts counting backward.

Why a voting system would be designed to count backward was a mystery to Broward County Mayor Ilene Lieberman. She was on the phone late Wednesday with Omaha-based Elections Systems and Software.

I told him about the backwards-counting vote machines, and he laughed. Apparently, the problem is some very basic programming error. He wondered whether ALL the software for the voting machines were like that (if so, more more machines might be compromised) AND he pointed out that if the 32,000 limit goes backward until it reaches zero, it'll loop around again and start counting up from 1.

(Edited because "look" is not the same thing as "loop.")

170. There are complications with the "error" theory.
For one thing, the error was based on the idea that the machine was set to max out at 132,000 (a number curiously low for a county with many times more votes than that). The machine supposedly began counting backwards when it hit a previously set max.

Problem is, it only did that on two ballot questions -- one of which was a target for vote-rigging (a gambling initiative which is somewhat unpopular with the voters, upon which huge sums of money ride)

Why only the two ballot questions? This, taken in combination with an anomaly on the same gambling question in Collier County, looks like we should do much more scrutiny on that ballot question.

Bev

74. Bev, what do you think of this idea?
The more I look at Kathy Dopp's work in FL, the more I'm unable to pick my jaw up off of the floor. I found a website that shows the names and numbers of all of the Democratic Committee officers in each Florida county. Out of curiosity, I called a couple of them to ask if they were aware so many Dems in their county crossed over and voted for Bush. Unfortunately, I spoke with the wives of these Dem leaders and although they were aware of the anomaly, they couldn't explain why it happened and suggested I contact their husbands tonight.

Wouldn't it be interesting to put a finger on this issue, straight from the mouths of those Dem leaders in Florida? Do you think it would be worthwhile to organize an effort to call each of these leaders in the counties in question and ask if they had a strong grassroots activist group who'd be willing to canvass their areas and ask why so many Dems switched?

If anything, it could be a grassroots efforts to get these Dems to approach their local voting officials and demand an audit trail for future elections. But for now, wouldn't it be cool if the locals in some of these counties could prove the overwhelming majority DID vote for Kerry and not Bush?

Let me know what you think soon and I'll be happy to try and organize an effort here on DU to call some of these Democratic committee officials.

Thanks again for all of your hard work.

167. We took Kathy Dopp's work to another expert yesterday
It is an exceptionally well designed analysis and fully justifies hand recounts of 44 Florida counties, because the results posted by the Florida Secretary of State as the "final results" are just about mathmatically impossible.

Kathy Dopp has one of the best exposés using statistics, and it is on our "A" list of fraud indicators.

201. It will wither on the vine without major media exposure
and public outrage. So many instances of blatant gross corruption and fraud occur right out in the open, but they are ignored by the media and the perpetrators go free.

Rathergate gave us the method. We must spread evidence and keep the blogging and online chatter about voter fraud and the stolen election HIGH VOLUME so it cannot be ignored and allowed to fade into obscurity.

219. It Won't Wither if We Keep the Story Alive...
We have to keep the story hot by continuing to post any new leads or ideas. The media has been forced to look at hot stories on the boards or on blogs before. And you can be sure they have their spies reading this board as well as any other to keep abreast of what we are doing or planning.

So any of you bloggers out there keep posting info in other places as well. also, let everyone on your mailing list know what is going on. Keep them posted on a regular basis and get them to spread the word as well. If we keep it hot they will have to notice.

2.) Voter Registration for 2000 & 2004, by Republicans/Democrats by county.

3.) Presidential Results, by county, Republican/Democrat 2000 & 2004.

It is not over. This is how I see it. We the People are the ones who elect people .Keep in mind NOTHING has been certified. Remember
Harris wanting to certify so quickly hmmmmmmmmmmmmm> Bush claimed victory before the votes were counted. These is something afoot and I assure you the Kerry camp did not wimp out. Strategy......who looks foolish if they were mislead into a concession ? This is a long way from being over ...take that to the bank.. By vote or otherwise.

123. This would certainly explain why John Kerry conceded
I thought it was merely to avoid a repeat of the evil circus that was Florida 2000 while an investigation goes on under the radar. But, if this is proven to be true in multiple states, this could bring down a great many people and put the neocons out of business -- possibly for all time.

212. My Latina friend said Broward went 85% Dem - then how did Martinez
beat Castor when they were 49 % to 49% all night and then suddenly
Castor dropped to 47% -

Palm Beach County, where I was poll watcher (and did some exit polling myself) was like 98% Dem voting before the vote.

How did it drop to 60 % Dem after the vote?

And don't forget, we poll watchers were told at 6 PM on Nov 2 to warn
voters the machines were not registering their votes properly.

Another "vote for Gore becomes a vote for Buchanan" type "malfunction:.

I'm not a computer specialist or anything, but I was looking for an area where I might be able to donate. Was there an area or something other than computer specialists that they might need help with?

The thought that Bush might once again be forcing himself on the American people burns me up. The truth is that he's known that he doesn't have what it takes to be president. He's always known.

Edit: Okay, I see where I can donate at. It's at the top right hand corner. Does that go towards the investigation or just their website/forum? I don't want to accidently donate to the wrong area.

160. BEV HARRISS - read this - wrong votes for BUSH in Ohio :
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20041105/D865R1DO0.html

Machine Error Gives Bush Extra Ohio Votes

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - An error with an electronic voting system gave President Bush 3,893 extra votes in suburban Columbus, elections officials said.

Franklin County's unofficial results had Bush receiving 4,258 votes to Democrat John Kerry's 260 votes in a precinct in Gahanna. Records show only 638 voters cast ballots in that precinct.

Bush actually received 365 votes in the precinct, Matthew Damschroder, director of the Franklin County Board of Elections, told The Columbus Dispatch.

171. Well, today got away from us altogether.
I had Andy scan one of the documents and things ran away from us before he got the other into electronic form. It will have to be tomorrow.

I can't post the stuff because I can't get to his computer -- and had to go to another place to pick up the document's sister.

Bottom line: I'm shooting for tomorrow night to start feeding it out.

Everyone's going to scream at me I'm sure -- they love to do that here -- because the first two documents we are posting, a bad boy and his sister, are about specific certification fraud, not vote fraud.

We are doing triage, culling through such a pile of this stuff, and fielding calls from the states who wanted to certify today. As far as I know, Nevada did -- without counting provisionals, which I've been told were of sufficient quantity to tip the election.

I put in a call to Nader to request a hand count in New Hampshire, and he did it. It would be ironic, wouldn't it, if Ralph Nader rode in to save the day, demanding consumer protection hand counts -- after the Republicans tried so hard to get him on the ticket as a spoiler?

177. So Where are the Documents?
It's "tonight" and can't find a single one. PLEASE tell me this wasn't a ploy to get donations, cause Bev's post was the only thing that got me through today.

Well...that and

202. I find that offensive. This is the second time you've implied this.
How many people in America and the world are praying for someone to take a leadership role in putting this all together to expose the fraud. Bev Harris is the one. She's been the one since the beginning of electronic voting. Who's worked harder to safeguard the integrity of the voting process?

And we have to listen to your sarcastic comments about this perhaps being a ploy to get donations. Sickening.

213. Jack, do you know how tirelessly Bev has been working?
To imply that this is some sort of scam, that after working for us for years and never hitting people up for cash that now, when she's filed the largest FOIA request in history (which costs money, educate yourself if you dare) that this....is part of some ploy to get cash?

Are you telling us about your own motivations more than hers?

178. Thank you, Bev. I donated.
Tell us if you need more. I will go very far into debt to save this country.

Also, I authored a thread where I am gathering information. I'm still letting the information flow in as things change. At some point, though I'll have to finalize what goes onto my informational CD. I'd like to talk with you about the most important things to include. Of course, this may have to wait as you are extremely busy.

I may just to a simple CD in the meantime. That makes sense. That's what I'll do.

Bless you.

Please help us. We have no leader and we are afraid.

182. Can you tell me if these Florida numbers are real or not?
They show a strange pattern, and I've been encouraging others to email the media. If they're real, they seem significant.

205. They appear to be real. Worse:
The secretary of state posted them as the "final results" without doing a thing to check into the anomaly, which is just about mathmatically impossible.

This is one of the lead stories we are working on today, with analysis and followup FOIA requests, plus lawyers to push things along if we can get them. When the story is simplified into sound bites and "what this means" we'll be pushing it into the hands of editors and other influential types.

What we do not have right now is a database of politicals to send this kind of stuff to. I am getting calls from people who are connected straight up to the top, but they tend to want customized reports on the spot, all dressed up with a bow on top. We do not have the infrastructure to stop and do different kinds of customized white papers on the spot, and therefore need to be able to send immediately to a database of politicos who can quickly feed one report at a time up the ladder.

If anyone has an Excel spreadsheet with sets of political party people, advisors, or otherwise connected individuals, it will help very much to contribute that via email now.

Send to Bev@blackboxvoting.org

199. We can wait 'til tomorrow!! Just keep up the good work!! GO BEV!!!!
Slinking around certification processes are one way we're going to show how come the machines aren't kosher....so this is good supporting evidence.

Do we have people working on that Nevada certification problem? Is there someone in their government that is on our side (Governor, Atty General, Sec of State? Anyone??) that could nip this certification in the bud until we can get in there? They sure seemed to be in an awfully big hurry to certify, no?

Tonite on Bill Maher, Susan Sarandon was AWARE OF THE BBV FRAUD!!! Bill Maher was his usual uninformed self, concerning the big issues. He still blames the Dems....his usual stuff. I hope he has to eat his friggin' words when he finds out that the Dems won, fair and square, and the repukes were the thieving bastards they've always been. Of course, Bill had a rough night tonite -- the repuke talking heads were TOTALLY out of touch with reality of any kind, and were all over Bill. The audience was just dumb-struck...especially at my house.

Just wait 'til all this comes out in the mainstream!!!

210. Because we have a minimal staff, can you email me?
This is how we are retaining, sorting and prioritizing incoming offers of help. Others tend to get lost, and I don't have time to email out because we are pulled in many directions at once, with the top priority being media and taking/checking out anomaly reports.

send to bev@blackboxvoting.org or bevharrismail@aol.com (the latter fills up, though)

We then need to send you information and obtain you or your group's formal input on it, with names and positions. We have lots of people willing to help but NOT go public. They all give us the same appalling feedback. They include some officials who are supposed to be recommending voting systems. What is frustrating, and kind of disgusting as far as the public officials go, is that they keep saying "this is off the record, I can't go public in my official capacity because it would jeopardize my job."

Asking them if they'd rather lose their job or lose their democracy doesn't seem to work. Security people with guts (especially ex-Microsoft network security guys) we really need you IF you are willing to go public.

You are the greatest hope we have for exposing this election for the sham it is. The discrepancies between votes cast and voters is too great in too many places for this to have been real.
