If we rely on omens instead of critical thinking, no wonder we got our heads handed to us. Even the Christians, the "fundies". may beleive that God is on their side, but then they don't just pat themselves on the back and holler, "Bush in a landslide". They plot and plan like they were 10 points behind.

I know a lot of work was done by a lot of people here, and I have no complaint with them. But I have to admit, Senator Kerry did not have a plan to win the election, at least one that worked.

Actually, I don't believe that myself. Life being what it is, those who should be rewarded for good lives often suffer, and pigs like Bush reap rewards. What can I say? Would you believe that Arafat should be dying in a comfy hospital bed with perhaps a morphine drip? I don't. But he is.

Our job is to try to do what is in our power to change things for the better and if we can't, we can't. At least we can take some comfort in the fact we tried. We won't have a guilty conscience at least from not doing everything we could.
