Atrios has checked out for the weekend |
|
Blog Off
Okay, I'm pulling the comments and taking off until Sunday evening or Monday morning. I'll resist the temptation to post a long-winded explanation, and just say that right now the blog is annoying me, perhaps for the first time since I've started it, and that's a sign that I need to put it on pause for a couple of days.
So, get your bloggy goodness elsewhere and I'll see you at the end of the weekend...

1. He promised his audience something big and did not deliver |
|
Atrios posted one of those 'something-big coming, to be continued' bits and everyone, desperate for any news of voter fraud, got alittle annoyed when nothing of consequence was posted.
I think Atrios got his feelings hurt, took his ball and went home for a few days.
I'm glad if he's learned a lesson. Don't entice when you can't deliver.

It was more like "the movement continues, something is coming"
Heck, he could have meant that the blog movement was coming & he was changing his format or something. A lot of us on DU jumped to conclusions over what could be an innocent remark.

2. My guess is he's burnt out. |
|
He's put in so much time and effort over the last year or more...many of us need to take some time to chill and regroup.

3. He Delivers All The Time...Is Anything Good Enough?! |

To the 1st responder, I hope your boss is more understanding towards you when you don't "deliver". Gosh, if he was a slacker, or constantly letting us down, that would be one thing. But he's provided one of the best blogs around this year.
I think a lot of us need to stop criticizing hard working folks the minute we don't like something they do (or when things don't go our way-there are a lot of angry, nasty people this week). The other side is much better at focusing its rage outward rathen than inward.

5. The shattered illusion |
|
is that there is nothing coming from the top at all. That the minority of the activists are as they have been on their own. That there is no remedy or hope to change the system they way anyone hoped(or were assured by the Democrats).
The party that opposed Hitler was heroic by comparison. Hapless, and it enraged the people left to rot in disaster so much they blamed them more than the Nazis. Blame is free if you keep it away from the guy with the gun. The Dems are a self-designed absurdity. Bush is a laughingstock as a villain. I'm laughing all the way to the grave.
There is always an option. Want to keep bending over? That's one.
