Democracy is like a post here at DU..... |
|
if there are enough 'supporters' then it will rise to the top, and maybe remain there for a while...if not it drops down to be forgotten and lost to history....
funny how that is...

1. try not to take it personally... |

...there are thousands of people posting all over the place; it's only natural that people post to the threads they've already been reading first, or post to the people they know first. Heck, I get ignored all the time, but I'm new! It might take years before anything I say would draw attention, LOL - I don't really "know" anyone, it does make a difference when there are over 55,000 members! Don't feel badly...

if you post something with a catchy title at the right time of day....people will notice it.
If you say something thought provoking that incites comment, it will get a lot of replies. then....with a consistent record of having something memorable or thought-provoking to say...you will naturally have people readily opening your posts to see what you are saying.
so...this isn't like Democracy. It's more like marketing or something.

...and timing is everything. I remember posting something that was newsbreaking... and nobody, not a soul, posted to it, and I shamelessly bumped it twice, LOL! But it was posted around 4:00 in the morning, and by 10:00 when I checked it again, it was on the 3rd page. Meanwhile, later that morning, somebody else posted exactly what I had, and it stayed near the top of the page all day, LOL! It's not personal, it was bad timing, it just happens...!

6. I have no problems with dropped posts....i was just |
|
adding to the idea that right now the pukes seem to be getting most of the posts....
we can work to change the topics of politics to a 'post' that others want to 'comment on' and therefore support....
We need to eviserate the wedge issues that don't really matter to most voters ad keep them focused on what does...it reallly is just a popularity contest...
If my post gets dropped due to recounts that happen and actually make a difference i would gladly have all my posts drop... :)
