NO ONE IN 2008
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 06:04 PM by Abelman
I know I'm guilty of already pushing Clark for a run in '08. Now that I've had time to sit and think, here's what I've realized:

The presidency is not what we should be focussed on. If history has taught us anything, it is that Congress is the place to be. We have to work toward electing strong-minded good Senators in '06 and '08. To support them, we need strong state legislatures full of strong liberal progressives. If we started channeling all the efforts we made to elect John Kerry strictly into electing our states' senators and our district representatives, we would have a real chance at combatting Bush. Because he wouldn't have the legislative branch to back him up on his crazy ideas.

Edit: We should be working hard with Democracy for America. That's where the party's future lies. And it is the only future for a real Democratic Party.

1. I disagree
I due believe that the Congress is probably more important. However, the President is the person to appoint the judiciary. Therefore, without having the presidency once every other decade will cause the judiciary to over extend the executive branch's power and diminish congressional power.

But I agree, first we need to take back the House and hopefully Senate in 2006.

3. This is practical -- unless the votes are counted -- Jesus on Dem
ticket will NOT win PERIOD -- end of discussion (well not really -- but that is a dramatic ending).

Why waste our time and sacrifice someone who is dumb enough to run a race that is rigged for the GOP because of BBV?

All our energy AND money must be to ensure that every single damned vote is counted.

There has got to be a peaceful way to make a major impact.
