We need a Senate Minority Leader who will not surrender!
Shrub is talking about a "mandate" and that the only way the Dems can be a part of his dismantling of Social Security and other service programs is if they become house slaves and agree with whatever he wants.

I say we do no such thing. Dems have to stand up for the people and have to make their message clear. They should show how Bush's plan will take money away from people-and cite statistics. They should show how much money will wind up in the hands of stock traders and how dangerous it is to trust the stock market with your retirement savings.

One thing that is important is to not let Shrub take the initiative on this. If he gives the impression that people "won't have to pay Social Security taxes again", they'll agree with it because people are short-sighted and don't think about the future unless they are about 65.

So please, Senate Democrats, RAISE CANE!!!! Don't roll over and play dead!

2. Remember when Bush and Cheney asked Daschle to back off...
Bush asks Daschle to limit Sept. 11 probes

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush personally asked Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle Tuesday to limit the congressional investigation into the events of September 11, congressional and White House sources told CNN.

The request was made at a private meeting with congressional leaders Tuesday morning. Sources said Bush initiated the conversation.

He asked that only the House and Senate intelligence committees look into the potential breakdowns among federal agencies that could have allowed the terrorist attacks to occur, rather than a broader inquiry that some lawmakers have proposed, the sources said

Tuesday's discussion followed a rare call to Daschle from Vice President Dick Cheney last Friday to make the same request.

4. I think we should actually push for gridlock
since -nothing- the * administration and Repub. congress push is actually good for the country anyway. Gridlock becomes a positive thing when it keeps Repubs. from doing further harm.
