Please explain opposition to Colorado Amendment 36 |
|
I do believe I was correct in declaring Bush the winner of Colorado. So what logical reason was there to decline the four "free" votes Kerry would have had this election. Assuming Bush fraud in other states still occured and since the total was over 270 no court challange would have occured.

2. My personal opinion... |

Democrats loved the idea at first, when Bush was leading in the polls here. Taking away 60% of the EV from him was a great way to help Kerry. So the Republican strategists had their poll people show that Kerry was leading in the polls here, and all of a sudden, taking away 60% of the EV's from Kerry wasn't such a hot idea.
My girlfriend pointed the poll #'s just prior to us going into the voting booth, and how our vote for Amendment 36 might hurt Kerry. I told her then, "It's about the principle behind the Amendment, that matters."
One man, one vote.
I guess a lot of people were lost on that principle, fearing it might hurt their candidate in the short term.
Like I said, that's just my opinion.
