Those damn Army commercials!
I hate those Army commercials! Especially the one with the empty desks.

Why is the military always want to recruit young people then duped them to die in Iraq?

1. Because they need bodies.
Did you know that the Army also, with your tax dollars, sponsors a huge professional drag racing team?

3. Stupid commercial
forget the politics of the situation for a moment (though not saying it isn't important) -- it is a stupid commercial. Empty desks and the like remind people that these guys are gone, and may not be coming back.

2. The one that I hate is
"Ever wonder what it's really like to be a soldier?"

Symbolman or someone else who's good with video needs to take the soundtrack from that one and put it together with combat footage, and particularly show scenes from Abu Ghraib over the phrase, "We'll show you what soldiers do in their spare time."

NOTE: No disrespect meant to the many veteran DUers, but that ad is just begging for the parody treatment.

4. My 17 year old son just got contacted
by the Army Reserves. I called them to find out how they got his name and address because he doesn't have a drivers permit or anything legally from the state. I also signed the form that the school couldn't release his name.

They said they did get it from the school. I asked them to remove his name (HA) told him I was a veteran and asked, HOW in the HELL can you do your job right now?

Now I writing a letter to his damn HS. Assholes.

6. So do I
It makes me sick how they hover around like vultures. I equate them to used car salesmen. They tell those kids anything to lure them in. They are now confined to the office (in my school anyway) and not allowed to troll through the hallways and cafeteria. That is still not enough, I want them out!
