Pro Dem discussion at the supermarket checkout tonight |
|
I have been putting of getting groceries, so I went to the supermarket later tonight. As it was close to 9pm, the store was pretty empty.
I got to the checkout, where there is usually a scanner/checker and a bagger. There was a third employee hanging out there, and they were engaged in a pretty enthusiastic conversation. (All of them were guys, under 25).
I know that the checker was pro-kerry, as I remember a couple weeks ago being in his line and he had a Kerry badge on...something I thought the store would not have allowed, but that's a different story.
Anyways, they are talking about Cheney, and Bush's lies, etc. I walked up and said, "Man, it's been a tough week!" They then brought me into the conversation.
One of them got into the Repub position on gays, and how repulsive he thought it was for Cheney to toe that party line.
It was GREAT. I'll have to shop late more frequently.

in the checkout line. I said "Good Morning" and he said
"Can you believe that damned election? that Bush guy is a criminal"
I said, "Yes they stole another one"
he steps back and says loudly "Bush is a criminal and a treasonous bastard"
you never saw so many older white folk in a conservative part of Arizona get so busy digging in their purses or studying the optometrist's signs so intently in your life.
ROFL gave me hope for Arizona
