Another one of the ring-winged code words. I imagine it's everthing that's not specifically White Anglo-Saxon Protestant as it was 200 years ago. Any slight anomolies, such as being a Jew, could turn their world upside down.

Let's face it, Gore lost 2000 election because he had a Jewish running mate. Kerry lost this year because he was Catholic AND his wife is a Portugese immigrant born in Africa.

If you notice, we are blaming the loss of the election on abortion rights, gay rights, the war,moral standards...anything but facing up to the fact that the wide swatch of red flowing across the middle of America on election night shows the swath of RACISM and hatred spred primarily by Rush Limbaugh. These are people who will willingly sacrifice their sons and daughters to a war instigated by a lie in order to put into power an administration that will eventually dismantle all Civil Rights Laws. Red is for RACISM plain and simple.

4. It isn't racial at all

It's from the German word kulturkampf, which predates Hitler. It's a war or struggle between traditionalists and progressives (and/or their surrogates).

There is plenty of racialist and racist oppression in the world, but the idea of Culture War is somewhat different -- although most right-wing Culture Warriors have been racist.

I totally disagree with you on the Jewish/Catholic thing. Our RW Cultural Warriors are actively trying to put a "multicultural" face on their efforts. Leo Strauss, the author of modern Neoconservatism, is Jewish, and the Catholic organization of Opus Dei is a major organizing force which includes Antonin Scalia.

They're beyond race right now. They're going for the enslavement of the entire world. We're on schedule for a massive die-off from mismanagement of energy resources, and they know they only a few years to get their reminaing ducks in a row.

You make some good points.

They have CondoSKEEZA Rice and Uncle Clarence Thomas who are black. However they . Some call it "assimilation." Foreigners call it "Americanization." Among blacks, we call it "selling out" or "acting white."

However you have to meet America's tradition does have a racist slant to it though. You can add sexist, homophobic, anti-semantic. There was a time when a man could beat the hell out is wife and kids and still get away with it. There are some out there who are comfortable with the so-called "Golden Age" of America, the time when no one was allowed to think outside of the box.
