Moral Monkeys for Chimp don't care about their wallets!
Read this review on Amazon.com of the Thomas Frank's book "What's the matter with Kansas".

Mr. Frank totally misses the mark, October 13, 2004
Reviewer: John. L. Smith (Memphis, TN USA) - See all my reviews
Because Mr. Frank cannot possibly understand how people think in Kansas (or Mississippi, where I am from), he doesn't understand how badly his book misses the mark. Economic issues don't matter as much to folks in "fly over country". We've never had lots of money, and we don't expect to. So the idea of voting Democrat because of economic policies really doesn't appeal to us. What does matter to us is values. Money and jobs may come and go, but our Christian values are always with us. We will never support a party that supports, among other things: homosexual marriage, removing "under God" from the pledge of allegiance, abortion, abortion in the 9th month of pregnancy (partial birth), and federal funds for obscene art. Lets not forget the millions that the Democrats raise each year from the pornography industry. Mr. Frank misses the mark. It's about values, not economics. Now I have a question: What's wrong with Massachusetts?

Maybe it is true, they really don't care about their wallets. This line jumped out at me:

We've never had lots of money, and we don't expect to.

Two major thoughts:

These people are robbing us blind of OUR money much more so then any taxes we pay - they are costing us financially because they don't care enough about their own money. I'm furious with these moral monkey thieves.

The second thought is - maybe a Democratic BOYCOTT of Repub businesses will have an effect because these people don't have lots of money to spend at Republican businesses anyway.

1. Gee, since when...
...was "partial-birth abortion" defined as "abortion in the 9th month of pregnancy"?

What a maroon!

Here, a bunch of us are discussing just how to get some sense into the heads of these Moral Moranities:

2. Frank knows this very well, I heard him say it on Franken/AAR
It's like what Bill Maher said about Iraqis and "freedom":

"The average Iraqi would rather have Saddam as dictator than see his daughter walk down the street in a miniskirt."

Paradise (nice house, swimming pool, etc) is awaiting these religious american folks in the NEXT life.

What these people need is a CIVICS lesson. They are voting for a guy (actually a group of guys) whose job is to make economic and foreign POLICY not be the fucking POPE.

4. This attitude...
By the followers of ANY religion, is exactly the same as the attitude that allowed royalty to rule in relative luxury while the people starved and died. Yes, the bible was used to justify it all, and the people accepted it.

But don't worry, that is an easily eroded argument. In the US, all it takes is empty bellies. And that's coming too.

3. Game plan
We will never change these people. It is there lack of understanding why religion and politics can't mix. I watched Bill Maher last night and Simpson and Sullivan was saying if we talk down to them we will never get their vote. Wake up you two, we will never get their vote. We need to appeal to the fiscal conservativesa on why religion and poltics cannot mix. There is plenty of history where religion and poltics have stripped away rights and led whole nations to war. They are a lost cause.

5. GM, Time Warner, Marriot, and DirectTV are Democratic fundraisers?
Lets not forget the millions that the Democrats raise each year from the pornography industry.

Gee, I thought these companies were all heavy supporters of the "values" and morality party that dresses themselves in Jesus robes while bombing brown people with glee. What's this moron bitching about? Oh, and hey numbnut, its billions, not millions that your values party members are scraping off.

From a story broadcast on 60 minutes about the porn industry

Consumer demand is so strong that it has seduced some of America's biggest brand names, and companies like General Motors, Marriott and Time Warner are now making millions selling erotica to America. Last November, Correspondent Steve Kroft reported on this billion-dollar industry.

6. Don't Believe Them
They haven't seen really bad times yet. There is nothing more destructive to the family than poverty, real poverty, not just lower-middle class living. No jobs, no health care, a serious health problem, no social security net to fall back on. We'll see how long it takes for them to notice how they have been betrayed.
