For those hoping Nader recount in NH will lead to something
Based on all the screwings that we have been getting, my bet is that this is what will happen:

NH will be changed to a * win

Then, even if Ohio were to be changed to a Kerry win due to mistakes and voter fraud:

* wins electoral vote 270-268

Ohio no longer matters. Election recount efforts over.

3. So Lay Down And & Let 'Em Do It, Right?
Nobody is counting their chicken before they hatch here. Quit being a killjoy please. Maybe what you say will happen is true, but until that time comes, I have hope!

4. Nope, still hoping Nader does it
No matter what, we must expose the problems with electronic voting.

9. Exposing means nothing if accountability is misplaced
Nh has paper ballots and they'll blame dems. Then what wil do to our democracy? As someone said - this will be the TANG documents to voter fraus - it will sink the issue.

10. Here's a thought
Maybe we should expend time and energy exposing E-voting in states that we should of won but DIDN'T. Screwing ourselves in NH doesn't help a thing.

Let's hit Florida, North Carolina and Ohio. We can make gains there.

6. Hope of what?
We WON NH. The only reason that scum of the earth Nader wants a recount is to help his Republican buddies.

Fuck Nader.

7. If Nader is involved
don't expect anything to go our way. And don't expect the media to interpret it our way.

And if that is being a killjoy, sorry.

If Nader had wanted to get * he had ample opportunities over the last four years, and he didn't take them. Do you think he woke up Wednesday morning and said, "Darn, this guy is bad!"?

Didn't think so.

17. Can't stand it, can you?

The hated Nader asked for a recount, and the beloved Kerry didn't.

Gee, somebody cares about voting rights and honest elections--how strange it should be a guy that opposes the 2 major corporate parties, instead of the candidate of one of the the 2 major corporate parties.

People are still blaming Nader because he was resentful of the way the Dems tried to keep him off the ballot. After all, this isn't a free country, and third party candidates shouldn't be free to run for office. They might take votes away from a corporate party lackey. Well, Nader was right. The Democratic leadership spent more political capital opposing Nader than in reaching out to the progressive left. It was cheaper and easier to just deny us a choice than to listen to us. Besides which, they know we're against their extremely profitable war, and so is Nader, and they've been afraid all along that we might understand that the reason they're NOT against their extremely profitable war, is because it is extremely profitable to BOTH major corporate parties.

Flame him, hate him, spit on him--it doesn't matter. Nader is right. We need real choices, not just fascism and fascism-lite.

18. You misunderstood
I was not suggesting that Nader was part of some plot against Kerry, only that if the election was fixed we would once again be destined to lose because the people who fixed it were very clever.

In fact, there is no one I would rather have investigate voter fraud than Nader. This is what he is best at, investigating on behalf of the general public and why I admire him. I would never vote for him for President but that does not mean that I do not appreciate his efforts on our behalf.

19. why don't we borrow trouble when it actaully happens?
* is in office anyway. Let Nader take the heat and make the challenge and let's see where it leads before we throw up our hands in despair. I don't see where we have anything to lose here. The worst has already happened.

21. He won't take heat - if he flips it to W. It woll be a "they all do it" BS
Like: "Enron gave to both parties" killed the W-lay connection.
This will difuse liability - that's my problem.
And I'd be happy to be wrong - and i'd publicly admit it.

20. Let me try just once more
Edited on Sat Nov-06-04 10:44 AM by DancingBear
NH exit polling was between +12 and +16 Kerry.

The final total was +2 Kerry.

Bush was skimming votes to pad his PV total and try and claim his bullshit mandate.

To do so he needed 50% or more of the PV.

NH is the window to get into OH and FLA, and beyond.

Nader has nothing to gain here, save for his credibility as a reformer.

All we trying to do here is get a baseline for fraud. If we can show the dissonance between exit polling and final numbers we can go from there.

That is all NH is being used for - plain and simple.

24. Me too

But I was on the ground in Ohio - in a primarily Repug district. I saw the Kerry signs, and I saw the hunger of those voters. I KNOW he stole it.

We can not get into OH and FLA without a precedent.

If this does it, so be it.

If not, democracy dies.

I'm willing to roll the dice.

to get a chance to correct it for the future and debunk the "cultural war" BS.
It's crucial that it's done - that's why I am so worried about being discredited.
