2. I don't know about on trees BUT...

using black ribbons (either on buttons/magnets, etc.) has been discussed here at DU along with actual cloth ribbons to be worn on lapels, car antennae, etc.

5. PTA mothers in New York State were handed black mourning armbands-

each woman picked one up and walked out.

I think it's a better idea. Wer could all wear black armbands, hair bands at the 99 cent stores might do....maybe use a white ink pen to

... as a child of the 60's and 70's i recall wearing black arm-bands around the upper arm- to protest the government, mourn the passing of MLK, and RFK- i was thinking the otherday, it was time to bring that back on the scene- i AM in mourning, as are so many of us- for the hope that has been stolen, and held captive by a group of 'sleepwakers' disguised as 'loyal americans'.

We could put one right next to a yellow support the troops ribbon.

Got an idea :think: Why not make a yellow and black striped ribbon to show we still support the troops even though we don't trust our government? Takes up less space and mentally and visually combines the two beliefs.

I'll gladly make a leaflet about other black ribbonlike symbols.

Wearing something is a powerful way to spead the message, and we need to spread the message. We need to defeat the media's damage control "Bush won" lie, and the sooner the better.

We need the support, even if it is just silent support, of as many people as possible
