The Coming Dictatorship....
Edited on Sat Nov-06-04 12:25 PM by carrowsboy
Over & over I hear from family and associates that "we had to elect Bush, he needs to finish the war on terrorism!"

But will it ever be won?

How can you "defeat" and idea?

Russia collapsed and Germany fell, but do we still not have Communism and Nat'l Socialism in some form or another?

Do people think that conquering the Middle East will defeat "terrorism"? Was Tim McVeigh a muslim?

I never used to believe in karma, but what I do find ironic is that in the conservatives quest to limit the rights of some citizens (i.e. gays) EVERYONE will now lose their rights when Patriot Act II is easily passed by a Republican controlled government.

And none of them seem to care about this silent revolution.

So in four more years, will Bush need more time to "finish" this war?

1. Please Google Peak Oil...You'll see with the War on Terroism is really
ABout. Go to Lifeaftertheoilcrash.com and fromthewilderness.com and start learning about why we are now in resource wars, why the draft is coming back, what our entire economy is really based on (oil).

6. there were 2 ways to deal with the limited energy resource
smart or really fucking regressive and stupid

smart. gore. increase cafe standards, increase efficiancy, renewables, new technologies.
our country could have become the leader in providing this and a boom would follow providing it to the world. peace and prosperity and a clean planet.

really fucking dumb. bush. use more oil. damn the pollution, take what you need by force, kill anyone that gets in the way. destroy the world, destroy the economy, make life miserable.

we chose gore in 2000 and got robbed. we chose kerry in 04 and got robbed even worse.
the majority know what we want and its the smart way.

8. yes, this is how I see it, too.
The really stupid choice, however, was not made by the people. It was made by the corporations.

7. It's estimated that peak oil will seriously damage our economy by 2007.
I'm thinking sooner if OPEC continues to pump up the stuff for * even faster.

And while peak oil will mean the end of most of us, at this point, I'm hoping it comes even more quickly. It'll end the most of them too.

2. the dictatorship is not going to be any easier to tolerate
for the faith based people. even with all of the faith they still seem to go to work, raise kids, mow the lawn, pay for gas, go to the doctor, try to make ends meet, have their kids dragged off to war, etc

its going to take a lot of faith to trump real reality.

5. But you make Reality a crime.
Next to a "liberal" the greatest crime is being a "realist". I may not be a liberal any more but I do endorse "reality".

3. i was outnumbered
when i tried to warn my friends about the Patriot Act. One of 'em loudly declared, "I'll gladly give up some of my civil liberties! I have nothing to hide!!" She who had regularly lambasted our local mayor in public. The cold breeze of the Patriot Acts can shift very quickly.

4. Oh, yeah.
"Do people think that conquering the Middle East will defeat "terrorism"? "

Yes, they live and breathe over in Freeperville.

Boy, that 'war on drugs' sure was a success, wasn't it? Man, I mean, has anybody around here even heard of a drug-deal going down in the past 10 years?

9. Just because we are not the majority...
doesn't mean we aren't right. I, for one, will never give in to the bigoted, smug, pretentious, "morality" of the evangelicals and the war criminal, Bush.
