My Future LTTE (ltr to the Editor)

"Future" because my newspaper has a 1-per-30-days'-limit rule. I submitted it on 11-3, but the dude on the phone said to resubmit it at the 30 days and he didn't see any "inflammatory" problem in running it:


To the Editor:

O.K., here we go into the deepest dark ages of George II's second term. Predictions:


* Iraq civil war. The Shrubbites had been holding off unleashing heavy duty havoc till after the Election. By the way, wonder where RUMSFELD, PERLE, and WOLFOWITZ have been all through the campaign? It's safe for them to come back out now.

* Other wars in lots of places.

* Draft. Yep, George promised absolutely no draft, nowhere, no time. Expect a draft and lots more invisible, flag-draped boxes.

* Bye-bye, Fidel. If there is one thing George actually does for himself, it is to take revenge on Poppy's old enemies. Expect George to travel to Havana personally afterwards for a huge party, with lots of cigar smokers. Cuba will resume being a playground for gangsters, this time for the PNAC/New World Order variety.

* Bye-bye, Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, and whatever else is left. Bye-bye, IRS. Hello, "consumption tax."

*Oh, and those pesky Supremes. Four, count'em, four Supreme Court judges of the rabid wingnut variety.


But, hey, according to the t.v. yakkers, it was our own religious fudamentalists and those married women wanting security from George who made it happen, whose so important issues are being anti-choice and anti-Gay civil rights---as opposed to such trivial matters as illegal wars and pillaging the national economy through cronyism.
