It's The Fifty Million, Stupid
All we need is 20% of the fifty million who fell for the lies and deceit, and our agenda Rules.

Just 20%. That's ten million people who, you know, are on the edge. On the edge of voting for dems who, except for various and sundry minor reasons, vote puke instead.

Let us not be too extreme, lets moderate some of the harsher distinctions. As we do, we will see more support, and with that added support, we will be able to lead America, eventually, to a better place.

2. More moderate is not the idea
It is a question of bringing into the fold a mere 20% of Americans to seeing that we are not against their interests. That means we must understand their fear of being with us and do the minor cosmetic changes necessary to make them more comfortable with the party.

But certainly we could be more toward the right. We could disclaim abortion, gay rights, workers rights, minority rights, etc.

We don't need to go that far, we just need to focus on the common ground and let the dis-similarities fade a bit. It is much easier to lead given that those you are leading are more comfortable with your style.

4. Yes, we could be republicans!
Now that's a strategy. Not.

7. I disagree. We need to be MORE liberal, not less
We need to remind people of all the benefits they have received from liberals. Healthy food, voting rights for women, birth control, good working hours, etc. are ALL liberal causes. Most people take these things for granted. I am disgusted with every single woman who supports George Bush, because they are spitting on the graves of those brave women who worked so hard so that they could have rights.

9. Good point

But the idea that good things flowed from just liberals is a mistake. The story is more like we compromised with the cons in order to get started on the good things.

It is amazing that so many women voted against their own self interests. Why is that?

3. I think it's more the message.
I think we're just gonna have to face: they're better at putting out a simple, pervasive message, true or not. Or maybe we could find a way to get more dems involved in spreading a more complex message if necessary, investing the time to talk to our friends and relatives and getting more people connected. I actually think the latter is not an unfeasable task, seeing the level of participation we had in this election, and I think a lot of people want to continue participating.

then everyone will know our agenda is in line with the voters!

6. That - and the NRA..
I know so many RINO's who have never stepped foot inside a church - it's all about the guns.

8. I support 2nd amendment 100% & don't think it should be a lib/con issue
I have had a great many discussions with conservatives and as soon as I mention I support the 2nd amendment it shuts many of them up. They had planned to use it against me and are surprised when I tell them that lots of liberals own guns and support the 2nd amend.

10. Another good point
We have been painted as Anti-gun. Dems have softened their rhetoric over the years and we have gained a few gun owners since.

We've dulled the distinction on that issue... we need to be looking at other issues we can do the same with.
