My letter to Senator Hagel: Comments please? |
|
Dear Senator Hagel:
I am confident that the many vote-counting anomalies in the past Presidential election have been brought to your attention.
Please raise your voice in addition to those in the House of Representatives, John Conyers, Jr., Jerrold Nadler and Robert Wexler, asking the GAO to investigate the efficacy of voting machines and new technologies used in the 2004 election, how election officials responded to difficulties they encountered, and what we can do in the future to improve our election systems and administration.
Due to your close relationship with the McCarthy Group, the parent company of ES&S, I suspect that your interest in verifying that our Democracy has not been harmed by electronic voting machines is tantamount.
Thank you for representing me in Washington. I have been proud to say, “That is my Senator.” I have been so impressed with the personal integrity and strength of conscience that have been evident in your words and actions.
Please Senator Hagel, do whatever is in your power to protect the integrity of our Democracy.

1. But he's got a history of involvment with the machines |
|
And won an election probably because of fraud related to the machines. Here, read this history that someone posted earlier here at DU: http://www.nightweed.com/angrygirl.html

earlier, and skip the reference to ES&S. He's been ridiculed by the left for this and if you really want action, skip it and appeal to his better nature. Put something like, " Because you may have more knowledge and expertise than others..."

3. Thanks I'll move the gushy part up. |
|
Do you really think I should leave the ES&S part out? Seems like that would make me look equally uninformed as the other 95% of this state. Am I wrong in thinking this?

Look, he has been accused of all sorts of bad things. Personally, I think he seems to be ok ( for a Republican) It is a shame, but we have to rely on moderate Repubs to get anything done.
Anyway, I just think that if you put in his past association with the voting company, it will turn him off...and will go straight to the trash can. In fact, he would never even see it, his assistants would toss it.

6. Exactly why I think he's the guy to contact. This could be |
|
very bad for him unless he's careful. (and he is my rep on the hill)
