Randi Rhodes: "They Have Absolute Power"
Think about that. We are setting our sights on the next elections, but what about the time between now and then?

Has it ever occurred to anybody that there will not be a fair election in this country for a very long time?

What about the damage they can do in the meantime? I place no limits on the amount of destruction the psychos in the Repub party can wreak in this country and in the world.

How to we stop them from making things even worse? That should be our first order of business.

Bush has already made it clear that he will bend his policies for no one, we have to encourage war withing the repuke ranks to push him back. Their power is peaking, people will see the results of the "faith" and it will scare the hell out of them. Out only option is to undermine the right-wingnuts posistion and take advantage of the power strugle. In the mean-time we need to expose the election fraud and get it into the MSM.

8. Right now, that is my greatest hope.
That the Repub party will splinter and disintegrate. The only problem is, the Democratic party may do the same.

I think were in for a meltdown.

7. I believe you are right.
There are cracks. Moderate republicans and the religious right need to fight it out. We need to encourage this. I'm sure there is a religious agenda somewhere-we need to use it against them. Best result would be they break from the party and form a fringe group. Divide and conquer.

If there is a war within the Repub party, we will see all the
non-Fundie repubs lose in primaries in 2006 and replaced with
Christian Reconstructionists -- unless BBV is stopped. This
fraud isn't only a threat to Democrats.

We need to point that out to all the non-rabid Republicans
in Congress. They have to help us stop this, or they're next.

This phrase from our Declaration of Independence keeps running through my mind:

12. A practical question here...
With two major books ("Bush's Brain" and "Boy Genius") with Rove as the subject, as well as an admittedly "thrown together in time for the election" movie version of "Bush's Brain," what ELSE has to be done to "drag into the bright light" and "expose his values?"

My "political activism" (as well as membership on DU) began when I read Al Franken's "Lies" and realized I didn't know who Karl Rove was. When I started to learn, I was sickened...shocked...angered...

But I wonder if the average "undecided" or "Bush base member" or "evangelical Christian" either doesn't BELIEVE the information that's already out there or thinks that it's not an issue?

If Rove is "exposed"...to a greater degree than he already has been in the last two years...at what point would that MATTER to people? I don't mean "Democratic Underground" people...I mean the REST of America. HOW and WHY would they CARE enough to change things, given the incredible amount of information that's already out there?

13. It's not necessary to explain to America that Rove is "bad".

All we need to do is neutralize his political effectiveness.

1. Keep him busy with other (nonpolitical) matters so that he cannot further his diabolical agenda.
2. Take away the fear factor. People who know Rove will not cross him because he has a reputation for ruthless retaliation, e.g., calling reporters at home and screaming at them. But Karl has made many enemies. We want people to LAUGH at him, not fear him.

Remember how angry he got when the protesters showed up at his house in March? Notice that he did not prosecute THOSE WHO TRESPASSED?

He didn't want to be distracted from his political agenda by taking the time to press legal charges against protesters. And he didn't want to give the story legs--so that OTHER people get the same idea about protesting in front of his house.

6. Senate rules are 1st to be gutted
There was talk that the Dems STILL have enough members to block appointments and such, but the first order of business from Body Bag and Roving band of criminals will be to change the rules to raise the amount of seats the minority needs to filibusters or block in any way.

I would LIKE to say that some of the moderate Reublicans (you know, the ones whi actually ARE Republicans) will take a stand against the Neo Cons and the Holy War but I think they are too whipped at this point. They know the aministration will eat them alive if the rebel. Either that, or they are promised power if they fall in line. Look no further than John McCain.

if they go too far. Of course, we need to do this before the Supreme Court goes hardcore right. That's why, if you haven't yet, everybody should call the ACLU and People for the American Way and become monthly supporters!!

do I feel sorry for the red America? NO.

Now, we have to concentrate on the Supreme Court and Civil Liberties. Europe and the world will take care of this mad man in his foreign policy. I agree, the system is corrupt but we have to focus on the next four years.
