They are in a position to intimidate thousands into voting for * if votes are not secret.

2. I'm comfortable with this. |
|
I suppose there are valid reasons against it, but I almost always act in a manner that allows me to be comfortable with complete public knowledge of my actions . . . . a habit I acquired from my Mom and from teaching.

Sorry, but it has as much foresight as a Bush plan.

me wondering whose side you are on. And if you attack me in the same manner, my question about you will have been answered.

10. Maybe, but I don't see too much of that on DU. What I have seen |
|
mostly since the election is an obvious heightened sense of comradely, the type one expect under circumstances of mutually shared adversity. I'm not offended by anything said here as long as I'm convinced that they are one of us and have the same goals. If they disagree on strategy, that's normal and healthy. I took a bit of a whack at Aquart to test his attitudes. As yet, no answer.

4. Absolutely! We could have a SS#/ personal password based |

voting system that would be difficult to rig. And the votes would all be tallied by 11:00 P.M. with a total voters, hard copy log.
Any system is rig able. But, we could at least make it difficult.

5. I was thinking the same thing today, knowbody0... |
|
We should at the very least be able to check our voter number against a master list and be assured that not only was our vote counted, but counted correctly.
I'm thinking along the lines of an ATM-like voter card which once obtained, you never have to re register. You would pick up a change of address card at the local P.O. to change your information.
Once the primaries are over, you should be able to vote whenever you feel like it...perhaps on an ATM machine. (we trust them, right?)
The whole system needs to change. Maybe federal offices need to be separated from the state and local. Just some random thoughts.
Crawling back under the bed now to re-assume the fetal position.
