Well we just bought a new car in a BLUE state
So our Nissan finally died. Eight years old ,165,000 miles on it, failed inspection Wednesday after Kerry lost. So we just closed the deal on a Honda for 1.9% interest in the beautiful BLUE state of Maryland. Sorry Virginia and west Virginia. I am a nobody with not much money but I can make some choices.....like an environmentally sounder car in a Democratic friendly state....

2. Right On! This is an example of how we all need to be voting w/ our
wallet and pocketbooks....whether it be patronizing businesses in Blue States and products by companies that are in blue states....Same with the media and companies that are advertising on the networks. We can decide what and where our money goes and I think that we need to start making sure the money goes blue, not supporting red. Let them bleed economically....

3. I feel that way about islamic owned businesses as well
Them and their conservative crap. I went to a gas station today to fill up the rental car (returning from a business trip) and saw some islamic guy at the counter. I put the CC away and drove off to a station that had people like me at it.

Do you have the county map which shows which counties are red and which are blue? Might come in handy in this case.

Ok, some sarcasm above :)

surprising allies: Burger King (yuck!) and Harley Davidson -- they're true blue donation wise!

5. Thanks Guys!
That makes me happy. We also had a family meeting with our kids and told them that we will be going to NYC to see Ellis Island and the art musuems for vacation this summer instead of Florida or the Outer Banks. They were pretty jazzed, especially the soon to be 12 year old; he gave the DNC his savings of 10.00 two weeks ago when a college kid came to the house asking for donations. DH and I are looking at our budget and where we spend our money. Three years ago we stopped buying the children's school supplies at Walmart. I do think even if you're just an average family you can still make a difference.

6. Doing these sorts of things, while a valid option, only serves
to highlight our differences as red and blue states, when its really not so much red and blue states as it is blue cities versus red rural areas.

Its like that all over the country, and furthering the divide will lead to civil war... which might not actually be that bad of a thing considering the direction the country is headed.

Maybe we need another civil war!

Carry on!

7. Good Idea
Mine is on its last legs, think I will cross the river and buy in Illinois, and then write my Senator (Bond) and tell him so. Hey wait I can do almost all my shopping in IL. Just 20 miles away.

9. If I would have known
I would not own the car I do. I have a red car in a red state but this was my dream car for retirement. Maybe I should have my car painted blue. Funny thing though my friend who was a puke, turned Dem has a blue car in a blue state.
