|
Edited on Sat Nov-06-04 09:40 PM by jefferson_dem
According to KOS, these names are being floated as possible DNC Chairs. Among them, what's your preference?

Nobody but Dean.
My allegiance to the Democratic party rides on the results.

9. We need someone who isn't from either coast |

and who isn't a moderate. That sure rules out Dean. I'm not sure I like anyone on the list.

I heard him speak to Rainbow PUSH today on TV and he obviously knows where the party needs to go. If he's not interested, no one else comes to mind at the moment.

The Republicans ran a 50 state campaign, and one reason we lost is that we ran a 17 state campaign. Really, we didn't even do that. We put all our eggs in two baskets: Florida and Ohio. He spoke about what we sacrificed in US Senate seats and state and local races by neglecting non-swing states.
He talked about morality and how to attack the Christian right on their moral hypocrisy and take the moral high ground as Democrats. He spoke about an economic and social justice agenda that appeals to both urban and rural working poor that are almost completely ignored by the party.
I wish we had a national candidate with his message. Everyone is too afraid to stand up for what we believe in. Even Dean shied away from the economic issues and called himself an economic conservative.

Donna Brazille-please, God, no. Dean would be a solid choice, as would Wes Clark. John Edwards is not out of the question, but not if he plans to run in 2008.
Max Clelland and Erskine Bowles are also good candidates.

....the Republican-wing of the Democratic Party has been losing elections and power for 10 years....and I don't want to here about Clinton and your local dog-catcher....fact is, we're nearly extinct as a national political force....
....yes, we needed to re-tool before the DLC, but what have we gotten from them since? Without resorting to old vague generalities, what does this Party firmly stand for? What does it fight for? Damned if I know....
....if the Democratic-wing of the Democratic Party doesn't regain the levers of power, then proceed to formulate a new resonating winning formula and strategy, i.e., 'democratic' programs, then I quit supporting the corporate Democrats and will look elsewhere or nowhere at all....because they mean nothing at all....
....the back-stabbing of Dean in the primaries, the conspiring multi-millionaires at the top of the Party, makes the whole thing look like little more than a 'screw-us' shell-game....
Read my lips, ABB won't work with people like me anymore, ever....the New Deal is dead, so be it....then let somebody like Dean get in there and produce a new product to sell to the American people and get off the pot....(pun intended)
