Who else kind of wants to give Kerry another chance after that wonderful
concession speech? I like Wes Clark better but I was so absolutely impressed with John Kerry's concession speech I kind of feel bonded with him now. I think we all went through a lot of emotions together and we all knew exactly how John Kerry felt when he lost because we felt just as hurt. Being president has been his life long goal! The guy deserves another chance!

Duck!

On the bright side, I've heard several Republicans say that if Kerry ran again in 2008 he'd deserve to be President because of that speech.

2. What, a chance to make another concession speech?
I'm sorry. I worked as hard as I could for Kerry but this was a terrible campaign.

6. It's not over yet . . .
And, as far as I'm concerned, he is my elected President right now.

7. I'll second that
It's far from over and I don't think Kerry has ever left the fight. We just can't -- and shouldn't -- see what's happening. If we can see it, Rove can see it. We need the patience to hang on until the Electoral College meets on 12/12, if things aren't resolved before then.

18. I did not watch the concession speech live ...
I was laying on my couch under a blanket distraught too weak to change the television channel to the speech . But I did watch the speech the next day and I felt proud but still sad when I watched it . This is not over .

10. In recent years, our
party has not given second chances. If Gore didn't get another chance--I doubt that Kerry will. Just being pragmatic about it--we generally do not give people another chance at the nomination for pres if they have won and lost.

11. I'm not up for it
I don't think he was the strongest candidate either way. He had his chance. I'm pushing for Russ Feingold in 2008.

13. unlikely he will run again, but i'm just so in love with him
i could not help but support him. in any case i'm planning on not trying to get too personally involved in the democratic primary. i plan to support whoever wins no matter what.

what i'm thinking of doing in the primary is get involved in teh republican primary and back a weak republican. i will send no money. but i will promote them to others. this is kind of what i wanted to do in 2000 because i didn't strongly prefer either bradley or gore over the other and would have been equally happy with whoever won.

17. We'll need him even more then
I still don't see another person out there that has the personal credentials to go out in the world and fix the mess that I don't even want to think about 4 years down the road. More terrorists, more war, complete world alienation, worse economy. Only this time he tells Bob Schrum to shut the fuck up and runs on his 20 year record and reminds people that he has fought for every single one of them his entire life. And shows them that he's already made peace where war was seen as the only solution, in Vietnam. And he drags out the corpses of POW/MIA's and shoves them right up the butt of every one of those swift boat vets and asks them what the hell they did to bring home the remains of the fallen.

Kerry/Edwards 2008, you damn right I'd go for that.

Sandnsea is right! We will need JK more than ever.

Anyone who has not seen Going Upriver needs to - http://www.goingupriver.com/

It speaks volumes as to who JK is and why we need him.

19. Irrelevant question
Who wants to give the party a second chance when they couldn't even see how to defined themselves in time or after? I thought I saw proof of professional politics, a bit unimaginative and boxed, but tough. It was the behind the scenes stuff we couldn't see that we trusted most- again.

No Wizard of Oz there. No one at home at all. Daschle- my first defense cause. An occasional great speech, stand or move and- nothing there. Political acumen and vision vanished into the New Deal Zone. 2002. Unbelievable. There should have been a shake up. They reformed the ranks and marched into reloaded and reinforced machine guns.

Other countries have riots. We suddenly see heroes transformed into Hollow Men. Riot for what??? Opposition candidates in other countries who seem losers to the world brave jail, defy elections, rouse their parties no matter how small. We never get a chance at the civil letdown of our phony nice guys. Someday the GOP will lose and you'll see some riots(paid mind you and ignorant). Maybe.

And the Greens want us to switch? Where were their candidates withdrawing in angry protest at the fraud? No attraction there at all. Just another platform for the drooling loons to laugh at progressives. Another gentlemanly bipartisan non-presence in life or death politics.

The Rumble in the Bungle.

20. no thanks
Kerry was never my candidate and I never felt that excited or optimistic about him. His plan to continue the war in Iraq was incoherent at best and sickening at worst, and his inability to speak succinctly just made him sound sort of pompous and boring. We needed someone innovative and even revolutionary (in a moderate way), who would have grabbed people's imaginations. Just because he finally gave one good speech he is not suddently redeemed. Good-bye John.
