IT'S TIME FOR DU'ERS TO REPENT AND KNEEL BEFORE JESUS
Edited on Sun Nov-07-04 12:14 AM by Nimble_Idea
That's right you heard me. It's time to go to Jebus land and convert. Oh, I'm not talking about us though...

It's time we faced facts as a party. We can't win without the south. So....Let's take the south.

We as a party , as we know it, is over.
It's time to hand it over to another generation, with a new message and a new agenda. Isn't that what everyone is saying these days?

Well the new generation is the Hispanics, and their agenda will now rule the Democrat party. Hell, it's all yours people. I'm with them all the way. They(Hispanics) are very religious and good people and will find, easily, common ground with African Americans in the south because they too are religious. So, there in the great south they shall rise and take this country in a better direction.

I who don't believe in God and Jebus will vote in lock step with our new Christian Masters! All I ask of my new leaders is that they don't shove jebus down my throat and take it off money and public space. I will allow you to preach to me, and preach to the nation your religious values. Hell we all got free speech, and you deserve your say. But I think I deserve to at least hear your "say" and not have it imposed on me on my money and public places.

But hey...that's a bridge we shall cross when we get there.

So, Welcome new Leaders of the south! Forge your new agenda, and don't worry, We have your back.

The new Democrat party is now the Hispanic Party. It's all yours.

7. Uh, WTF?
We lost because of OHIO, thats one pretty northern state. If we had taken Ohio and a western state thats possible such as Nevada then we'd have won.

Fuck the south. They're reliving the old civil war gripes with a "southerner" in the office smacking dem librulls about.

Maybe we should tell them Bush isn't actually from Texas. :D

10. relax,while there are racists in the south
the south is changing. It is becoming less racist than more racist.
Time is not on their side , this was the "Whites Only" last stand.
The south is getting more diverse and less hostile to minorities.
Sure, NC is home of the KKK and people actually thought it was in play, but it will be another 20 years before that actually happens.

For now, the South will just sit in the white side of the cafeteria, and the blacks on the other side, and the "others" will fill other spaces away from the rest.

We did not LOSE Ohio. Kerry conceded and lost Ohio.

I lived in Montgomery AL (Dad in Air War College) I understand the divisions.....very well. The are a great many liberals there.

5. Although I am not religious I must ask
Why is it that references to God bother you? And it seems to me that the reference to God on money is safe. As it does not point at a specific Religious figure, rather just at a higher being. I believe the 1st amendment to guarantee that we won't be forced into a specific religion not that God won't be present (or thought to be present) in public life. The prayers at the opening of Congress, and the bible people swear on are much greater offenders of the 1st amendment to me since they are blantantly Christian.

8. To be the USA, it should not endorse any religion
including some imaginary "God"

It doesn't bother me at all really. It's just a principle to be fair.

As an American , I really believe in freedom of religion and not having our leaders act like to be a leader in this country requires "GOD" or anything else.

It is no different in other fanatical places if you were forced to watch Saddams Face everywhere you went. Same thing goes for this name "GOD"

While you might want it everywhere, some people don't believe in it.
Yet, they are forced to see it , as a matter of PUBLIC POLICY because it 's on the people's public and government endorsed money.

So ....not to get vulgar with you, I'll stop here.

12. amen
heh, but seriously me too. Why does some imaginary entity have to be on my money? why do I have to swear to it in court etc? why are my children subject to religous beliefs not held by us in public school?

14. Have you been paying attention?
We won this election. There was a system in place, rife with right-wing fundraisers and supporters, to steal this election for Bush via electronic vote and intimidation tactics.

This post smells fishy to me.

16. really? It didn't smell like that till you got here.
So if my post doesn't mention there was fraud it must be suspect, even though I believe they cheated and made comments in other threads?

Go eat some fish man, you have it on the brain.

18. Oh, carp
Sorry, I misread your post. I could have sworn you wrote something about retooling the Democratic party to include the religious Hispanic factor.

Well, if you believe that there was fraud involved, what is the purpose of assuming that we need to scrap our doctrine of all-inclusiveness to adopt such a bold and manipulative counter-Rovian strategy? We won, and by quite a large margin, if you believe that the Republicans flipped it to their favor.

Either way, I thought the purpose of the Democratic party was to include everyone, not to market to target audiences. Within that idea lies the fundamental purity of Democratic thought, when compared to the utter corruption of modern Republicanism.

That's enough: I will now allow this post to swim back downstream.

15. But Jesus is on my side. The right-wing Chritians are blaspheming him
He said for the rich to give their riches to the poor, not to harm children, to love one's neighbor as oneself and he never said he was God (check it out in the original texts, not the biased translations).
