1. Ah. Someone noticed.
The almighty dollar is dead. A banana republic has no economic clout. Nor any other kind.

We will have to crawl on our bellies for allies when this is over. Those of us still alive.

2. I've noticed and I have moved money overseas...I also have always
said if there was a "lockdown" or way they will close our borders for travel is they will make it a financial one. Picture this: The dollar has declined so much it will remind one of the Italian Lire of years past on a global level - Meanwhile, the Fed changes the currency?

6. As I understand it... With deficit spending, we run the printing presses
...24/7.
Have you seen any "new" money lately?

If we kept all that new money here in the states, inflation would run rampant.

That's where outsourcing comes into play. We're sending a lot of our cash overseas, flooding the foreign market and resulting in devaluation.
The Canadian dollar is now at $.81, up a year ago from about $.61
The Euro is nearly $2.00 and the Yen is just beginning to gain.

The U.S. dollar, once the preferred world currency, is becoming fancy toilet paper. We're really screwed if the Saudis dump the buck and switch to the Euro.

I wonder if they'll try to blame this on Bill Clinton.

I'm not that up on global economics, but that's how it was explained to me.....Time to buy that new computer.
