Vote Count "Glitches" Haunt Bush's Supposed Mandate
Edited on Sun Nov-07-04 01:31 AM by hangloose
Story found at the Washington Dispatch, you bloggers should be proud.

While Democratic leaders have gone missing since the November 2nd election, activists on the web and radio have overcome their post election depression and are beginning to investigate the vote count irregularities across the nation.

Due to a discovery by members of DemocraticUnderground.com, the City of Gahanna in Ohio discovered a discrepancy that gave 4,000 votes to George Bush. After media scrutiny, city officials have admitted to an electronic "glitch" that caused the problem.

In Florida, errors in software code caused a referendum on gambling to be completely overturned. The error caused totals to count backwards after reaching a ceiling of 32,500 votes. The problem existed in the 2002 election as well however the issue was never resolved by the manufacturer of the electronic voting machine.

Even in North Carolina, a Craven County district logged 11,283 more votes than voters and actually overturned the results of a regional race.

Now that activists on the web know the signs of error or fraud, expect a rash of reports over the next week and corrections by county officials across the nation.

Additionally, the group BlackBoxVoting.org has started a series of Freedom of Information Act requests to examine electronic voting machines and possibly petition for a manual recount across many states

84. two time losers !
This is my one thosand post and Iam so sorry that the title is so negative .When I talk about two time losers ,Iam not speaking of the DEMS here at DU or the Democrat voters accross this country. Iam talking about the loser mentality of the Dem leadership ,which seems to be so afraid of the bush gang that not one single one of them Iam aware of will even whisper the word "another stolen election" ! Oh imagine how terrible it would be when the other side calls them sore losers. Apprently its much more important to them to be friendly with bush and his group ,then to do what was promised to the voters they represent, that no matter how long it takes ,every vote would be counted. I subspected months ago that the fix was in ,we have been warned for months about the diebold voting machines. The media was reporting that dozens of attorneys accross the country, where keeping an eye on the vote making sure every vote was counted ! Now the election is over ,Kerry conceded, and the media wont even discuss any possible funny stuff happening in this election. Bush watching the results come in, had the smug ,I know Iam going to win look on his face. Just like 2000 , bush has the nerve to declare the people have spoken ,showing his mind set of believeing he has a mandate ! He will use this mind set to bully us Dems over the next four years. Can we depend on the Dem leaders to stand up to him ,I doubt it. People do not like staying with a losing team ,when it wont even stand up for itself and cry foul ,when there has indeed been one ! Iam so tired of standing up and arguing with uninformed people that have no idea of just how extreme of leaders they have handed the future of our country to. I believed John Kerry ,who as a young man showed so much bravery, would not fold so quickly B/4 making sure nothing was done to the votes. They also let the bushes get away with claiming they hold some higher morals ,when the opposite is true. Why was it not pointed out that a true man of God does not jump to war when thousands of peoples lives are at stake. A true man of God does not seem to find so much pleasure in talking about killing. Most importantly that part of what makes this country great is keeping religon out of Goverment, and that God will not look kindly on those who use religon as a way to advance their politicial career. I told myself if the American voters where stupid enough to elect someone who so obviously has a lack of intelligence, a closed mind , and believes its his way or the highway ! That I was boycotting politics at least untill the next election. Apprently Iam a politicial junkie ,cause Iam mad enough and care enough. I want us Dems,to do whatever we have to thru the system to make bushes next four years worst then what they did to Clinton for the entire eight years he held the office, will that happen ,not if you go by the actions of the Dem leadership in bushes frist 4 years !

Seriously I'm utterly disgusted - with crap e-mails from Kerry, Clinton, and Terry McAuliff - I send my angry responses and apparently they all have they're e-mail inboxes blocked so all my responses bounce right back. They're all hiding behind a cyber-magnetic wall.

Fuckin' DLC.

I tried to warn people in 2002 and 2003 about the DLC on various sites yet they all mocked Howard Dean and got their guy nominated - and sure as shit, he and the rest of that spineless crowd are now all AWOL.

What the democratic party does not need right now is to stick its head in the ground, saying, "Woe is me! We need to regroup! Where ever could have we gone wrong?"

This is fraud, and we need to get so damn loud about it that the media will not be able to ignore us.

The * administration is guilty of war crimes and should be prosecuted for them. Under their leadership the USA has become a rogue nation, guilty of all kinds of human and civil rights abuse.

It's the "Enron" of America and I have to wonder if we'll even have this board two or three years from now.

Imagine in your wildest dreams going out and trying to make fun of something after you just got what you just wanted. The logic doesn't add up. Their ways betray them, and some of them can't even figure it out. It's not always what is not said but how they didn't want to say it.

They are treading on very scary ground if you ask me

16. Radio is also mentioned
I'm listening to a repeat of the Air America Radio Show -- Mike Malloy -- and he is really hitting all the points about Vote fraud.

Randi Rhodes also was hitting Vote fraud -- as were J&Sam. Also Mike Webb.

These guys are bull-dogs with a bone -- they are not going to give up on this vote fraud.

Mike Malloy tonight's rerun:
"Do you understand -- None of us did anything wrong. We did it right and we had it smashed in our faces. We won this one and we won the last one."

"There is nothing more that we could do -- we didn't do anything wrong."

Nothing we do will mean ANYTHING -- until we get rid of the machines! (Mike Malloy)

No matter how many votes we got out for Kerry, they would've been stolen and flipped to B*sh. Talk about irony. It's B*sh and his vote-stealing troll, Rove, who are the flip-floppers, not John Kerry.

Remember, he just spent a couple of hours testifying in front of a Federal Grand Jury in the Plame case. I think KKKarl is desperate. And, honestly, that's good for us because desperation leads to mistakes that, hopefully, provide nice trails back to the lair of the evil vote-stealing troll, himself. :toast:

added the following comment:

I remember telling people the month before the election, over and over, "what makes you think these facist dictators are going to let go of their toy, the United States, without a plan to keep in firmly in their grips?" They never had any intention of losing this and they made sure for four years while only Bev Harris, Randi Rhoades, Michael Moore and a handful of others had a plan to counteract them...

If it doesn't make a difference then what? How do us little old bloggers force media to cover the shit out of this? LTTEs may be nice but our newspaper overwieghts everything with RW pukes. I don't even know what TV news is doing, I gave up on that ages ago.

First days after the coup, I heard radio anouncing rulings for full turnover to e-voting. GAK! (big surprise. It worked so well for them........)

The media (and I mean newspapers, TV is a lost cause, IMO) can't run with this yet. We need to move ahead with Nader's recount in NH. That will trigger investigations into like machines in other states, including Ohio and Florida. This story isn't going away. Check out this link: http://www.scoop.co.nz/mason/stories/HL0307/S00064.htm

It's from New Zealand, but there are reporters on papers in this country who will jump on this. We need to bring it to their attention. We need to mass email this to the newspapers, here and abroad.

The way I look at it, we've got until the Electoral College meets. Longer, actually, if we can prove fraud and not just a miscount. Anyway, it's a month. That's not all that long. We can be patient -- active, but patient -- for a month. THEN, if need be, we can be upset. Now, though, we need to focus all that frustration and energy into emailing or whatever else we need to do to give this legs. We CAN do this!! I know we can!

Just MHO, of course. Your mileage may vary. ;)

46. With the huge turnout, there is no way Chimpy got 1/4 mil more votes in FL
than did Kerry.

If, as pundits told us, "nothing had changed since 2000," then Kerry would have won FL, as did Gore, and by a lot more than Gore did.

51. Another article that mentions DU and Bev Harris. MUST READ
http://www.washingtondispatch.com/article_10500.shtml
Should America Trust the Results of the Election?

Members of the discussion forum, DemocraticUnderground.com dug in and have already found a clear error in the vote count within Ohio. In one voting precinct in Gahanna, Ohio, 4,258 voters supposedly cast an electronic ballot for George Bush while only 260 voted for John Kerry. While it is vaguely possible that over 94% of voters in the precinct supported George W. Bush, it is a hard number to believe considering that only 638 voters were counted at the polling center.

-snip-

One organization that is investigating the matter is BlackBoxVoting.org which is run by Bev Harris. Mrs. Harris has turned over evidence to authorities regarding vote fraud and has come to the conclusion that fraud did occur on November 2nd. However her group is uncertain as to the scope of the possible conspiracy. Unfortunately, Mrs. Harris has an uphill battle as no paper trail exists to verify the electronic voting data.

Over the past few years, Republicans have fought to prevent any type of paper trail through electronic voting. Despite printable ATM type receipts being a reasonable fail-safe, Republicans and corporations such as Diebold fought hard and eventually won the battle against a verifiable voting system.

Without question, the evidence presented thus far should raise suspicion among honest individuals. While maintaining a calm and reasonable demeanor, the results of the Novermber 2nd election should be fully investigated simply for the sake of the nation and our future confidence in the democratic process.

60. Upshot if fraud is proven
Does anyone know...can anyone tell me what happens if it's proven that Kerry was actually the winner?

Obviously this is a can of worms for even Constitution lawyers, but what happens? Does Kerry's concession put him out of the running, or would proof of fraud mean that all bets were off re a concession? Does anyone know the answer to that?

I've also wondered, if Bush is impeached, would we get Cheney as Prez? Or are those who are mounting the call for impeachment also calling for Cheney to be impeached?

Here is a little history lesson. In 1972, Tricky Dick Nixon won 49 state on his way to one of the biggest landslides in history. I remember because I was a pollworker/canvasser for McGovern. Nixon had a horrible POS VP named Spiro Agnew III; he was as universally hated and despised as Dumb Dick Cheney. So, conventional wisdom said that Nixon would never be impeached, because "look who is waiting in the wings."

Cut to chase: Agnew ended up resigning first, after a tax scandal and disbarment threat. Nixon went down shortly thereafter (Aug 9), once impeachment proceedings got up a head of steam. And there weren't 56 M people out for Nixon's head on a platter then. Stay tuned. Asshat's second "term" may yet be a prison term.

70. A concession is not legally or Constitutionally binding.
If the officials in each state correct the numbers following proof of fraud/computer glitches, whatever you want to call them, and the final numbers show Kerry winning the needed electoral votes, then he's the new President.

78. We must remember, though ...
that the state legislatures actually certify the state's electors. Both houses of the legislatures of both Florida and Ohio are controlled by Republicans. This is still an uphill fight. The evidence of fraud must be so overwhelming that those legislatures feel public pressure to do the right thing.

Good work, DU. But let's not get out hopes up too high.

82. You're right. Although
Florida and Ohio are surely not the only states where voter fraud/computer glitches occurred. I have a friend in Florida who is a computer expert/engineer and worked as a voting monitor who is about to provide solid evidence of all kinds of Repuke misdeeds resulting in thousands if not tens or hundreds of thousands of wrongly counted votes for Bush.

Therefore you must impeach Cheney and his successors on down the line at the same time as Bush to get rid of the bunch.

80. The media long ago rolled over and died on the issue of keeping...
...politicans on the left, on the right, in the middle and to the far extremes, honest and accountable to the people. Then reporters and journalists began to compromise their integrity for fame and security. It seems that the internet and in particular certain Blog sites have taken on the battle that the media fought up until the beginning of the first Nixon White House years. Bloggers are now the Edward R. Morrows of cyber space.

The rest of us can benefit as long as the power elite fails to control the internet and as long as the internet remains free, and by free I mean monitarily as well as spiritually. Once big corporations get in and claim ownership of the internet, the government gets in and begins to tax the internet and moralists get in and demand that the internet be controlled and censored against their versions of sin, it will be all over and truth will disappear from cyber space. So I relish what is happening and let's beat these bastard Bushkovites while we have the chance.

Ralph Nader (no, I'm not too happy with him either)wants to do an audit of the election results, and I guess he needs requests in writing in order to be able to do it. Given the alternative of 4 more years, I'll take anyone's help. This was on The Randi Rhodes Show website:

88. Whoa! Analyzing at Precient Level shows fraud in Cuyahoga!
Edited on Mon Nov-08-04 07:50 PM by FighttheFuture
buzzflash.com led me to this!

http://pages.ivillage.com/americans4america/id20.html

There have been several emails regarding this page. I will be inquiring to Cuyahoga County in the coming days. It seems that the precinct/ward differences may be where the problem is as the official summary report does not show these spikes in turn-out.

The summary, however, does not report on the number of registered voters for precincts or wards, whereas the referenced link does. I am using the referenced link data below (more complete totals), not the summary report, which only reflects total districts.

Cuyahoga County Precincts

Each precinct in Cuyahoga County, Ohio
Highlighted areas represent 90% (very VERY unlikely) and higher (up to 1160.78%) voter TURN-OUT! 30 are above 100%
Calculated from data on county page - http://boe.cuyahogacounty.us/BOE/results/currentresults ...

(Ballots Cast/Registered Voters) * 100 = % turn out.
Ballots Cast SHOULD NEVER be more than Registered, thus % should NEVER be higher than 100%

This amounts to 97,489 EXTRA votes beyond 100% in those precincts! This is just for ONE county!

No further evidence needed - a recount MUST be done - and possibly another national election using ONLY paper ballots, hand counts, and observers making sure all counts are valid. I don't trust these computers AT ALL! We should have the UN observe
