Exit Iraq

By Robert Kuttner

Sunday, November 7, 2004; Page B07

President Bush should enjoy his victory celebration while he can. He will soon face the most determined antiwar movement since the 1960s.

The Iraq situation is becoming more and more reminiscent of the Vietnam disaster. American troops mostly stay in heavily fortified barracks. When they do venture out, their sweeps don't achieve durable pacification. Militants and young men of fighting age are long gone by the time American bombardments start.

I told my Tombo Jeb will give Floriday to his brother and Diebold will give him Ohio. The more I hear, the more I'm convinced it was sheer fraud - again.

Even so, there are too many ignorant people voting for Bush - I know a lot of them.

I have edited to read RE-INSTALLED

7. the Generals july 1944 plot
i remember reading about the bomb plot to get rid of hitler in july 1944 and the plot failed (though hitler was bounced around a bit :))...the author later lamented the failure, and the hideous deaths of the plotters, who constituted some of the best officer corp Generals, from the highest ranks of society, but he went on to say that MAYBE JUSTICE WOULD NOT ALLOW IT! Maybe the crimes and schemes of so many people were so awful that only total defeat, total destruction of german power, could fulfill the destiny that hitler et al had set germany's course on. While the plots and schemes of the busheviks cannot compare in sheer vileness to that, it's also true that only a relatively few men were responsible for nazism, men who were known and therefore doomed while in the gop/rnc/bushevik case the people who have plotted the US's downfall are numbered in thousands, in every branch of society, with the mediawhores front and center. Maybe the busheviks, by invoking god
(karma) have tied themselves to a falling star that must smash into the ground....
