In the Pursuit of Happiness: Suggestions for a peaceful revolution:
According to our constitution, we as Americans have a right to the pursuit of Happiness. So, let's start being pro-active about adapting to a society which is progressively getting intolerant and interfering with those goals. I came up with two ideas this morning:

1) Seriously, let's start moving to blue states. Dem businesses need to start migrating there. We'll find what protections we can from the rest of the right-wing nuts through State rights. We'll also benefit from the changing corporate laws by finding new consumer markets outside of the U.S. As soon as word of mouth comes across the nation that they're there, my family will make that move. There's no reason to stick around Florida once the kids go to college.

2) For those who have to live among the bigots, this idea came from the altruistic suicide in New York -- regarding the young man who killed himself because Bush won. You KNOW what the right-wingers are saying right now. "It's a start." So I thought, what would I do if I overheard such a comment? My answer: I would ask the person if he attends church. If the answer is yes, I would ask for the name and location of the church, and then I would ask for the person's name. Next, I would send a letter to his priest/minister and just ask a simple question: Are these comments a reflection of the high morals you're teaching in church?

Anyone else have short-term/long-term solutions to our present predicament?

2. I don't disagree with any of those, however...
the reality is that I've lived in Central Florida for more than twenty years and have not found one, not one person in this community that shares my concept of Christianity. It's a simple message of tolerance, a litmus test that very few Republicans can reach. Therefore, I have determined that I'm the odd peg, so it would be easier for Mohammed to move to higher ground, than to ever expect Christian Republicans to do it.
