4. He is a Christian Reconstructionist.
Christian Reconstructionism is a little heard of religious philosophy that preaches that every aspect of society must come under biblical law. In their view, secular governments are in opposition to the word of God, and therefore they seek to eliminate all legal barriers between church and state. Founded in 1973 by R.J. Rushdoony, it has had wide influence in the modern Republican party.

24. Here's a couple of links on the Rev. Mr. Rushdoony

Here's a link to an interview with the evil genius.

And another Link to excerpts from his magnum opus The Institues of Biblical Law.

It's truly scary stuff.

8. Dobson and his ilk are the heart and soul of the republican party.
Every democrat should repeat some of Dobson's more outrageous statements every single time they talk to the media. If democrats are unwilling to reveal the true nature of the republican party, tens of millions of decent Americans will continue to vote republican because they either have no idea of the existence of republicans like Dobson or because they think he is quaint and amusing but totally harmless.

21. This guy is crazy
He makes his dog "Submit" he advocates beating children who disobey him. He is a monster, a souless dominering nartcissistic bully who needs to be knocked down-hard,and feel for himself fully what he arrogantly thinks others deserve. People like Dobson need to have limits PUT upon them and thier choszen bully behaviors by a society that is intolerant of abuse or thier authoritarian personality type and conduct disorder will become"normalized" and thier abuses will run over everyones human rights.

13. America won't put up with that shit.
If clowns like that think that it's a war, they will get a war.
With guns and bombs and all that stuff. Don't sweat the small stuff, like the minds of people like Dobson.

15. I have always said
a perfect bumper sticker would be "FOCUS ON YOUR OWN DAMN FAMILY and leave mine alone"! I went head to head with these freaks when they were trying to introduce some homophobic bs into the public schools in Ft. Collins. They cancelled their meeting with the school board

18. I know many have decided not to watch tv due the outcome
but watching Dobson on Stephanopoulis and his expectations of this administration is almost must see. Dobson's remarks were anti American, anti freedom and he is pushing a theocratic government
No exceptions.

Thune has stepped right into line. Will support denying Specter to lead judiciary committee.

Obama is criticizing the democrats and wants values and morals included in the Democratic agenda.

19. What do you think about giving people like this............
MORE air time? Will it doom us or help us? His agenda is so radical, I can't believe a lot of X-ians would support it. But then again, I'm so frequently wrong lately.........what do I know.

25. he didn't hold up well under George's mild challenges
George quoted him calling Pat Leahy a "hater" and Dobson couldn't back it up, totally dodged the question. Even his supporters were probably wondering why he didn't just give a single example of Leahy's supposed "hate."

26. What exactly did he say?
It's sort of interesting. Already this week I've noticed alot more mainstream coverage of real extremist Christian Fundamentalist voices. There was that op-ed piece in the LA Times from Frank Pastore this week- really wild, ranting fundamentalist stuff.

The media owners either share those fundamentalist views (which I really doubt), or they're freaked out by their influence and are trying to back pedal on them. You know- put them on stage so people can see how ugly they really are.

27. Something I've been wondering
Does anyone know if there are direct connections between the reconstructionists and the moonies? I mean other than at one time or another most of the key actors on each side has been prominent members of the Council for National Policy, along with key republicans.
