Bush voters smarter than Kerry voters?
alright so after that bogus IQ list that was floating around the internet for the past couple of months, this should clear up any confusion:

4. "Retards" much as gays, blacks, hispanics etc. cannot help what they are.
We did not get beat by "retards", we got beat by ignorant people who care more about football, survivor, and kicking ass than their country and its citizens.

I have a mentally handicapped son, who is sweet, gentle, helpless and cannot help for one minute how he is. I find your use of the word retard extemely callous and not something I would expect from a progressive.

7. We were not beaten by "Retards"...
we were beaten by leaders who would appeal to the foolish and stupid to get and hold power.

15. Wow....this is what really makes us so appealing to rural America...

21. So, how shall I rephrase this?
70% of Bush supporters believe, in spite of all evidence, that Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction. That's ignorant, isn't it? Kind of stupid to believe something that isn't true. Foolish to believe that in spite of the facts.

Now, I wouldn't say that to a Bush supporter to his face, not if I wanted to convice him of that. But I see no reason not to tell the truth on a anonomous message board.

Given what my local newspaper says, I should have bought a bigger plot of land for my house, they seem to think we vote by acreage.

13. It is not only my son that I speak for, it is a large group of people
Edited on Sun Nov-07-04 11:51 AM by ignatius 2
who cannot help that they can't think or throw back smart ass answers on a message board. I would come back to any of you who call a black person a nigger or an hispanic man a beaner. Why not avoid the nice word gay and just call them queers? My point was they cannot help who they are any more than a dog can become a cat. And we, the supposedly intelligent ones, use terms that degrade these people.

Sigh.

5. There's more of them...............
and they're easily led. Education assumes that you question things and can think in abstracts. Stupidity assumes that you have no intellectual curiosity and think only in terms of conformity with the masses.
Take great pride in the fact that you fall into the former category instead of the latter.

Intelligence tests are not universal. No one has been able to find truly reliable measure of Spearmans G or "General Intelligence". All they really do is show how you perform compared to a sample population. Comparing two different cognitive measures is like comparing apples to oranges.

When someone tells you that a certain racial, regional, or other group is more intelligent than another please be skeptical. These are the kinds of studies that make David Wechsler turn over in his grave.

I tend to support "Multiple Intelligence theory" and reject the idea of "G" General intelligence. In my work I have to follow a more traditional approach.

This to me is really funny. It is also measuring more cultural and environmental factors.

I did some quick checking (one phone call) after I posted this first time. What you are probably measuring is a redistribution of the norming sample. This would account for the variance in State scores.

A quick theory you might want to measure annual income against voting trends. I suspect Democrats might be suprised by the outcome with higher income groups favoring Democrats. I'm sure there are studies out there.

One of the best laughs I have had in a long time.

Thanks,

Yea, the vast majority of America's smartest and most educated citizens completely disagree with you people. Shouldn't that tell you something?

16. Looks like some sort of Meta-Analysis.
Lots of arguments here.

In my opinion this all boils down to individual perceptions.

I have strong personal and to a degree hidden professional doubts about anyone who voted for Bush.

that's the list that is "bogus," that is mentioned in the article i posted. the one used in the link i posted is a legitimate, much less dramatic, list of IQ's for each state.
