BBV URGENT: Want recounts? Contact Cam Kerry NOW!
Edited on Sun Nov-07-04 02:18 PM by EarlG
Just got this in my email from DC lawyer Cynthia Butler. This is a listserv post that needs wide distribution.

I am angry and getting emails and recrimination from people
wondering why KERRY just caved and is not fighting this before the final count in Ohio, before any of the fraud was challenged, before New Mexico and Iowa even came in.
There is widespread feeling that he did not lose the election and that it was taken from him.
There is enough here to warrant investigation and enough to challenge the results. It's coming from all corners.
I understand that he has until the official count
certification in Ohio to Un Concede which is several days from now.
Anyone who thinks that he should unconcede should give reasons why - whatever they noticed, particularly in Red Republican Governed States using electronic machines- and send them directly to Cameron KERRY, John Kerry's brother at his law firm at the address **********

They should inform us if they were not allowed to vote provisionally (for whatever reason- they lost forms, ran out of forms, etc.) I personally witnessed a number of things as I reported in Texas with the DCCC. (Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee)
If you know anyone in particular in Ohio who tried to vote and was turned away at the polls please get their information and notify the campaign. They should be notified if they experienced lines longer than four hours -particularly elderly or infirm people (we call that torture when they do it to political prisoners) . They should be notified if people were told as has been reported that due to too many people showing up in African American precincts, particularly in Ohio where there were too few booths (some only had two or three for the entire precinct) and told because of heavy turn out they could vote on Wednesday.
If the numbers of these sorts of incidents creates a percentage margin that exceeds
the margin of victory- Un Concession has to be made to challenge the count.
If people wanted to and tried to vote and were prevented or actively discouraged from doing so, that is a Civil Rights matter and must be dealt with in terms of the ultimate count.

This is the last email that I am writing on this subject in this venue. I am taking it up in other venues.
Please pass along this to your listservs so that we may make Democracy Work in America. We are not a country where he who cheats best wins.

Cynthia L. Butler

I hope Kerry will look into this. This problem goes beyond who may or may not have won the election. Our very freedom and rights are in serious jeopardy if this kind of fraud continues. This would be a good time for him to show how much he is willing to fight for the "little guy."

30. God Bless Howard Dean
What a pleasure it was to sign this petition and send it on to family and friends. He has been absolutely remarkable, and, yes, he would have made a marvelous President. I stand corrected on this, but my God, we are so lucky to have the best guys around it was very hard for this person to choose. I love them all, with an exception here or there (you all know who I mean).

17. here's my letter
Dear Sir,

In my small rural town in Western NY State, I didn't see anything untoward. We had lever machines.

I am convinced, on reading many many reports from around the country, that something egregiously dishonest has happened.

Please pursue this.

Please do all you can to force the hand of national media. Aside from their churches, national television is I fear, the only way a certain "51 %" of the population will learn about this.

Thank you'

with these examples of voter problems in NC...

November 4, 2004 Carteret County, N.C. Computer May Have Lost 4,500 N.C. Votes (According to Unilect President, the votes were lost) Yahoo News

"In Carteret, the county was told by the manufacturer of the voting system that its units could store up to 10,500 votes, but the limit was actually 3,005 votes. " WCNC

Carteret voting machines Unilect Direct Record (DREs)
purchased May 96, 45 machines, Programmed by Connecting Points 252-240-2722
Firmware: Unilect Patriot model 2.54, Software: Unilect, model/version Intetilect 2.49
has modem capability
Website for Unilect Corporation: http://www.unilect.com/

November 4, 2004 Craven County, vote totals in nine of the county's 26 precincts were electronically doubled. The outcome of most races isn't expected to be affected. ( How can they tell?) WCNC
Craven County Voting Machines, ES&S Votronic Model 1
Purchased 206 machines from 1997-2003, Firmware model 5.28 installed 2002
Software tabulator ES&S Unity version 2.2, Programmed by ES&S
ess 800-247-8683, has modem, does not use it
November 4, 2004. Mecklenburg County, early voting machines counted some totals twice affecting as many as 4,000 ballots. That problem has not yet been corrected. "There are always glitches," McLean said. http://www.wral.com/news/3891488/detail.html
Mecklenburg County, a discrepancy in unofficial totals posted on election night had officials recounting early voting results Thursday. The county election office said before the election that 102,109 people voted early or returned valid absentee ballots. But unofficial results from election night showed 106,064 people casting early and absentee votes for president. http://www.wcnc.com/sharedcontent/APStories/stories/D8654KG80.html

Mecklenburg Voting Machines, Microvote 464, Purchased 1,400 in 1995
NASED nr 10301, Firmware version 4.31, Software - MEMS model/version 2.02
Programmed by Board of Elections, No modem capability
service by Microvote, phone 317-257-4900
November 4, 2004. Yadkin County, about 1,000 ballots were accidentally counted twice. The problem was later corrected. How? http://www.wral.com/news/3891488/detail.html

Yadkin County Voting Machines - ES&S Optech 111 - P Eagle, Optical Scanners purchased 13 machines 1996, Firmware Optech III, Software, Data Packs programmed by ES&S

November 4, 2004. Guilford County, early voting machines had capacity problems, which affected anywhere from 6,000 to 20,000 ballots. That problem was also corrected.

(Problem was that the machines quit counting ballots when they reached capacity. Doesn't that mean that the machines ran out of space to hold the data, and that the data was lost, as happened in Carteret County? ) http://www.wral.com/news/3891488/detail.html

Guilford County Voting Machines - ES&S touchscreen voting machines, purchased 1,186 from 1995-2002, Votronic Model 1, Firmware 5.28, installed 2002, Tabulating Software Unity 2.2 installed 2003, programmed by Guilford County, has modem, doesn't use.

November 4, 2004 Onslow County, a software error changed the order of finish in the county commissioners race. The error didn't change who won, just who finished first through fifth. The error occurred when a floppy disk that compiles voting data from the counting machines was programmed incorrectly.. WCNC

Onslow County uses punch-card machines.
They have 28, purchased them in 1985 from
Business Records Corp. (now ES&S) and plan to replace them once federal standards are set.

November 4, 2004. Chowan County. Elections board officials were busy tallying corrections Wednesday to results in Guilford, Yadkin and Chowan counties, Bartlett said http://www.charlotte.com/mld/observer/news/local/10094337.htm
Chowan County Voting Machines Not known what kind of machines used in Chowan this election. They did have lever machines. May have been testing other machines.
November 4, 2004. RALEIGH, N.C. -- Election Day has come and gone, but three statewide races still do not have a clear winner.

22. Is it possible for DNC or MoveOn to phonebank?
I'd like to see either the Kerry offices if they haven't been torn apart, or MoveOn (more likely) to organize and phone bank to ask people what problems they had. We're too underground for everyone to know to report their problems, but if we had our phone lists back and called house by house and documented all of it in one giant database, we could get something approximating real numbers county by county.

As a concerned American, I encourage John Kerry to unconcede. As evidence mounts that voter fraud occurred, and turned Ohio and other close races away from Kerry, so does my conviction that John Kerry is the rightful winner. I am behind John Kerry in whatever decision he makes.

26. I also want a re-vote
Edited on Sun Nov-07-04 12:58 PM by VivaKerry
an unofficial but clearly demonstrative re-vote (I started a new thread yesterday, but today the system says I don't have enough posts to start a new thread. Oh well. If someone thinks this is an idea that should be kicked around, please copy and paste into a new post. Thanks)

OHIO; Fla; NM – do the recount, but also do a re-vote

About the middle of a night of insomnia last night, I had an epiphany.

What BBV is doing is right on.

But we can do more. And this is in response to what appears to be the lack of action on the part of the democratic leadership. OUR party is not really doing anything. I do not feel at ease making an assumption that because the JK campaign and the DNC are being so very quiet right now that they are working behind the scenes and that we should wait because ‘something might come about.’ If that is the case, good.

But for now, it seems that the election fraud issue can and will be dealt with only at a grassroots level.

Why couldn’t the county level of the dem party in Ohio and Fla basically hold a re-vote for all people registered as democrat? Yes, this is a big undertaking (but isn’t saving our democracy worth a little hard work)?

Why can’t each county take their voter registration list for that county, and identify every person who voted, and make a call to arms for them to come in to sign an affidavit as to who they voted for. Tally each county up, and report those as the numbers for who voted for kerry (or whoever they voted for)?

My guess is – given the anomalies we see right now – that somehow real paper re-votes will be more than what the computer votes amount to.

Then ask bush and the public to reconcile the numbers.

I figure we would have to have this done by the end of November, in time to raise a big ruckus about NOT certifying those states’ elections. Perhaps more people would be alarmed enough to refuse to let the House of Reps let the election stand.

I might remind everyone that under HAVA, this is the last election where we will have county-centered registration lists. A key, and dangerous, goal of HAVA is to have ONE central voter registration control in each state. This is the last time we will have the ability to do anything on a local, grassroots level.

WE, THE PEOPLE, HAVE TO DO SOMETHING IN A BIG WAY TO EXPOSE THE FRAUD IN THIS ELECTION. BBV’S GREAT WORK IS IDEAL. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE SAYING, ‘WAIT, THIS IS HOW I VOTED’ AND KEEPING TRACK OF THOSE VOTES IN REAL TIME ON REAL PAPER AND OUT OF THE HANDS OF THE FRAUDULENT ELECTION OFFICIALS.

I posted it in the other section here at DU. Hopefully more Du'ers will wake up and see what is going on. I also posted it in http://www.commongroundcommonsense.org/index.php?showforum=16

It was created by old Kerry/Edwards online forum members. We moved over there and they have been fighting since results were in. We have a lot of other groups if people spread it. I believe their is enough evidence to lock them up for good. Bush/Cheney that is.

49. A ray of comfort
at the very least. As if anyone could stop us in our grumbling and anger.

They should have been prepared for the contingency of the MAGNITUDE of the media incompetence and bold theft in BBV alone. This is still stealth resistance on the part of the standard bearers' helpers!

I will not diss Kerry. I think Skinner is right not to "pin" our very wild emotions on this "underground" note when so far things have been flipped by outsiders and amateurs. Without BBV recognition it is no wonder the Kerry campaign remnant is scrounging. Civil Rights issue was abandoned shamefully in 2000 and ill won by the NAACP.

By the, those who know they are in shady GOP territory that is otherwise untainted by the big BBV and Battleground State attention should check every nook and cranny for RNC standard procedures to shave more votes for Bush. EVERYWHERE. In my district I know I can't trust a bunch of these goons and the races were tight in the local level. Ordinarily the methods would be very small and risky. It might work backwards that they also took some from Kerry.
