Christians who believe God appointed w, & Christians who don't
these two groups need to git it together. the smart christians who actually try to follow Christ's tenets, should reach out, maybe even with a slap to the face, to the not too bright Christians who have bought the bizarre idea that God Almighty has picked the stupidest and most dangerous man in the world to be our leader.

that's the problem.

1. You are right.
I can't even look a Christian in the face now I'm so angry. But perhaps moderate Christians could remind them of some basic facts.

11. Whose moral values?
I've thoroughly enjoyed your cartoons over the years but never emailed a Cartoonist so here goes.

How about a cartoon on the theme of "Moral Values?"

Suggested Cartoon Theme:

The Good Samaritan parable.

A Levite walking around the brutalized traveler muttering to himself,

My morale values are not the same as your morale values. In fact, my morale values are greater than your moral values?"

2. I think mainline churches are the answer
I think more Democrats should go to church, and I think they would find a home in the Episcopal, Lutheran (ELCA), American Baptist, Methodist, or UCC. We need the people, folks, and the churches would give us a place to organize.

6. I agree, for the most part
However, you shouldn't assume that the "smart christians" aren't already reaching out and speaking out. They are, but they aren't Falwells and Robertsons. They're not making outrageous accusations about how gays and feminists are responsible for 9/11, so the media tends to ignore them.

However, they should do something to raise their profile.

7. Most Religions have radical wings
Fundamentalism is nothing new. When a group branches off an established regimen , it creates it's own beliefs, usually far from the original dogma. The fundies, and evangels , do not follow the Christian precepts of Christ, they have created their own perverted shlock, calling it religion, as they use the same book as the standard religions. The newer offshoots choose to create their own dogmas, ignoring the older interpretations of their book. They are closed minded, and are easily indoctrinated to the radical mindset. The shrub has tapped into this blind allegiance, with more blind "truths", the lies they believed, and thusly voted for a liar and his propaganda. As my fundie neighbor says proudly, "I see with my faith, not my eyes". This group of people are more comfortable operating on somebody's orders. than with their own decisions. The only way the blind can be made to see, is for their leaders to be exposed for who they are, as Nixon was . To show them they were manipulated, and were following a "false prophet"in their terms. The new christians do not accept responsibility for their actions, god's "forgiveness" washes away their " sins ", and a clean slate is then created, with nothing learned.I see these christians repeatedly make the same mistakes , many very serious, such as bastard children , wife/child abuse , and dui caused deaths, but hey, gos forgave them . Disgusting. These people voted for the shrub in toto.

14. Why don't good Christians try to form alliances with good Muslims
The Christians and the Jews have already done this. Why not pull in the Muslims as well. This would show the world that there are good people on both sides of and they can work together to oust the radicals on all sides of their religions.

They could also use this venue communicate to the rest of us the goodness in their belief systems.

(this is only a suggestion as I am not a Jew, Christian or Muslim but I try my damnedest to respect everyones beliefs).
