Bush's gutting and straining of the military might have hidden role |
|
A president uses the military of his predecessor. The Rethugs hate to use this because it brings up that Bush is using Clinton's military.
With Bush straining and gutting the military the way he's been doing, any Dem who wins in 2004 will inherit a lackluster military. Unless they went overboard with funding increases and other 'pro military' things, they would be very vulnerable in 2008 to a 'weak on military' attack, especially if troops are engaged anywhere.
Bush was hand picked to be a 1 term president, and I wouldn't put it past his handlers to give themselves the perfect opportunity to destroy a Dem candidate in 2008 on the military issue.

1. The Repubs never take responsibility for anything |

they take credit and give out blame. So while you are correct, it is as a matter of general policy, not cleverness on their part. They just chant a mantra: "take credit, give blame"

4. Your post reminds me of the old saying in industry: |
|
"management's job is to take the credit and assess the blame".
So true. And the Rethugs are the "business party" -- so they've taken this industry rule -- with themselves as management, naturally.
This credit-stealing buck-passing mentality is why most managers and most Rethugs are absolutely worthless.
Vitruvius
P.S: This saying is very popular with managers -- who, like many sociopaths, think it's clever to gloat about how irresponsible and useless they are.
And I notice the Rethugs gloat about their "clever" irresponsibility -- when they think nobody's looking.

i was thinking along the lines of it more having to do with trying to further privatize the military... what's that statistic, 1 in 10 soldiers in Iraq are privatized? (read that somewhere on DU a while back).
But, hey, your idea is as good as any.

no SOLIDERS are privatized. Some functions have been privatized, but no soliders.

It is hard to face what you do in life to your self let alone to others.
