Get Over It!
Let's quit the whinin' & the cryin' & the bitchin' & moanin'.
Think about what we've witnessed this week, but don't give up the fight. We have been delt a lousy hand but with it comes plenty of usefull clues.
And paleese stay positive: the last thing we need to do is become an embittered "free republic of the left".
Let the DU remain an informative clearing house of news and oppion serving thoughtful and caring people of all stripes.

Quit using this tactic. Telling people who have been grievously injured to 'get over it' is abuse. We're not going to stop screaming fraud until there is a real, honest, verifiable investigation of voter intimidation and vote hacking.

Do you think someone like Michael Moore who makes a documentary against Fidel Castro would be able to live peacefully in Cooobah? Please stop this "second class citizen" crap and get over it. We need to work with groups like the DLC and NDN to help forge a new value system for our party. We need to attract more centrist Democrats to our fold.

48. Utter nonsense.
Gays are definitely NOT second class citizens in this country. In fact, they are so in Cuba, where Amnesty International reports "that there are several hundred gays locked up in Fidel Castro's prisons, where homosexuality is still classified as immoral conduct".

{See http://www.npr.org/programs/wesat/000429.milmarch.html}

So once again, you are wrong and ironically so, considering you keep calling yourself "Cuban".

Gays enjoy prominence in Hollywood, the media, in the artistic community, etc. Some of the richest people in this country are gay. So much for your second class citizen baloney.

75. Mmmhmm... And all those RICH GAYS in hollywood are so much
more wealthy than all the straight ones... whose social security actually goes to their spouse when they die. And what's with the Cuban bashing? I keep calling myself a woman. And if you think that homosexuality is not considered immoral conduct here, think again. The decision on the anti-sodomy laws are hanging by a thread now, and just the fact that we are barred from enjoying the same rights as heterosexual people means that we are indeed second-class citizens.

Oh... and by the way, some of the poorest people in this country are gay as well.

85. Since you are into repeating yourself, I will too
Kerry voted against that particular resolution because some of the wording in it was not strict enough against China and other developing nations. Throwing a piece of legislation up and taking it out of context is typical.

It's fairly obvious you never watched a single senate hearing in the matter.

17. No proof,
and my tiny little brain tells me that even with fraud we lost. You don't believe people are idiotic enough to vote for bushboy? You and I live in different countries. Not to mention, the down right lousy campaign and less than stellar candidate.

34. Campaign was great.
Kerry was great. We ran a strong candidate this year against one of the weakest and worst candidates the Republicans have ever offered. As pathetic as this is to say, John Kerry actually speaks in complete sentences. Bush, quite obviously, does not. John Kerry is a decorated war hero who has served the people in public office for most of his adult life. Bush is a draft-dodger who has destroyed every business he's ever run and who seems to serve only himself and his rich friends. According to the American people, in scientific polls taken immediately afterward, John Kerry won all three debates. The Democrats had more money than usual this time--nearly as much as the Republicans. They fought toe-to-toe in television advertising across the nation. By one count, the Democrats registered three times as many new voters as the Republicans did for this election.

And you know what? None of this mattered! The Democrats still lost. There's nothing wrong with the Democratic party. There's something very wrong with America. If Kerry can't beat Bush, then I don't think the Democrats can win at all. I think we're in for about 20 years of one-party rule unless we fight and win this one now!

The natural progression of my psychiatric disorder is to wallow for 3 days, then slowly roll into lukewarm anger, then uprise into revolution. Get over it? I'm just getting started. Making my plans, contacting activist groups. First group ready to make a stand, I'm there.

to "stop crying in our teacups" over the last election. Get over it my ass! As long as we have evoting, our Democracy is DEAD. I'll be DAMNED if I "get over it" OR "stop crying in my teacup" this time. No fucking way. When the evidence of voter fraud comes our are you STILL going to say "get over it?" We'll see.

...Democrates mobilized in 2004 and the probability is that WE DID WIN....so why would we "get over it".We must stay mobilized. What if 50 million people did get behind this fraudulant election investigation... just like they got behind Kerry....duh....this is not just about the election of 2004 it is about the future of our democracy.Think about the fact that if we do "get over it" the Republican party will have control over every election..our mantra should be "we get it"....we must fight. And hard.

91. Well
If we dont do something about the voting machines then Democracy died Nov3 2004,thats why we are fighting this.

Karl Rove said that his goal was to make sure the Republicans have control of the whitehouse for the next 25 years,if you dont fight the e voting now then its over, thats why we are not moving on yet.

44. Get over it??? That is complete crap!!!
Maybe Ernesto you don't realise how loaded that phrase is and what you really meant was get ON with it.

Which, by the way is only slightly less insulting!

Listen, on Wednesday, I moped around my house, left dirty dishes in my sink (and I have a Virgo moon--I never let food collect on ANYTHING) had to force myself into the shower and to eat breakfast--in other words, I felt exactly the same as when my ex-husband left me for a younger woman! This is a grief process--we've all lost something we love. You would NEVER tell a brokenhearted friend to "get over it" a day after her relationship went to hell--WTF makes you think you can come here and say the same to us?

As for lying down in submission to those pigs, I can only say sorry--the vaseline just ran out! Let them all Cheney themselves while we work on a grassroots level (since the media route is obviously out of the question) to bring people to an understanding of our own superior morality. Moveon.org haven't accepted defeat, and we won't either:mad:

86. In the midst of my grief, I am glad Bush won.
Just think, Kerry probably thought long and hard about fighting over the votes, compared to what he'd get as president.

A combattive Pug-majority Congress, who would probably block him at every turn.
A shill for Minority Leader
A fucked up economy.
Iraq looking more like Vietnam every day.

He probably thought, I am not winning a damn thing if I win this election. So he conceded...

We all suffer the consequences with the chimp in office for four more years. Maybe the suffering will give everyone a clue that we should have fought harder in 2000 and we best not let this happen again in 2008.

94. I agree with you...
Who needs freepers and trolls when we have each other? I don't have many posts, so I'm sure I will be reamed for that.

I am so disappointed to see people cursing each other and cursing Kerry. I once said in this forum that even if Kerry lost, I would take heart that there were so many like-minded people out there that felt the way I do. Right now I'm ashamed to be placed in the same category with a lot of the people posting right now.

Yes, we are angry, very angry, but I hate to see people taking it out on each other and blasting Kerry. Talk about ammunition for the freeper cause. See? they'll even turn on each other when the going gets tough.

I keep coming back this week to read the thoughtful posts and seek comfort, but too much of what I've seen here isn't doing that. It's making me very very scared. We have no chance of ever winning again with attitudes like this.

I just finished watching the movie "Iron Jawed Angels". Man..those women had courage and dignity and never gave up. So, far I'm not seeing that caliber of character around here and it's very depressing.

Good luck to all of you. I hope you find some comfort somehow..
