In 1972, after Nixon won with over 60% PV and 96% EV, who'd have believed

he would have to resign in disgrace and never finish out his term?

How much buzz was there a week after the election about dirty tricks?

I bet that many of those discouraging the rest of us from even THINKING about the possibility of vote fraud, much less looking into it, would have bet heavily on Nixon finishing out his term, with his great mandate.

Don't get me wrong. My optimism level is not super high, but it isn't zero either. The Washington Post and NY Times ain't what they used to be. And I don't know that there are any new Woodward and Bernsteins there anymore.

But it must be looked into. Maybe the new Woodward and Bernsteins have names like Bev Harris.

2. Like I said, there are a lot more factors against this now. But it must
be pursued...

14. We do have the web though. It may not compensate, but it's something.

5. Doesn't matter about that. If fraud exists and can be exposed,
we will have a "mandate" to "fix" our BBV problem. And the Republican party will be tarnished beyond repair.

10. Ever hear the name "Spiro Agnew"?
He was Nixon's life insurance. But he went down before Tricky Dick did.

4. I know he (Nixon) had a democratically controlled congress in his first

term but I can't remember if he regained any control when he was elected to his second term. If was still a democratic majority then his impeachment would have been easier.

We have a republican congress now who will engage in and sweep under the rug any corruption.

6. Are you saying it's not worth looking into? If Repubs control the vote
counts, and we don't even fight it, then we really might as well move to other countries...

8. No, I am not saying that at all.
But look at the dumbass republicans we have in there. DeLay, Santorum, Frist, Hasstert, just to name a few, will do everything in their corrupt power to see that all looks good on the surface. It is fight worth fighting but the odds of victory are not in our favor. It isn't just a republican controlled congress but the nature of the republicans who control congress.

13. I for one want to fight, but I also want to watch the republicans start
eating their own. Look at Arlen Specter. That man already has a target on his back. The republicans have one of two choices right now. Enrage the religious right and let Specter have his chair position on the judiciary committee or eat one of thier own right off the bat and show America what a united republican party looks like.

I am like you and I desperately want to fight and definately want to expose theft and corruption but I am also hopeful that our battle doesn't have to be to hard fought becasue the republicans hubris might bring them down all by themselves without democrats having to lift a finger or break a sweat.

15. Nixon had a Dem Congress in 72 that had strong majorities. A real press
to face. Totally different situation today - the mistake was not fighting BBV after 2000 and 2002. Kerry said he didn't have time for those crying over stolen elections. Please stop bringing up Nixon in 72- nobody was talking about the Death of the Democratic Party after Nixon's death because people knew that McGovern was a fringe candidate. Many Dems didn't care that McGovern loss the election. Things are way different now.
I am trying to prepare myself to go to Canada. Forget this shit -looking for people to pool resources to get the hell out of Dodge- Anyone intrested send me a private email.
