I think part of the problem is we have no sustained grassroots effort |

We all fall in behind a pol, and if that pol crashes and burns we wander around aimlessly bitching about it until something new appears to coalesce behind. Part of what interests me about MoveOn and DFA is their ability to maintain a sort of off-party grassroots influence on the Democrats that could influence politics BEFORE a primary, and BEFORE an election, when it is virutally too late to influence the actual debate--at that point one can only pick a side.

In Wisconsin we never gave up no matter what the polls said. According to the polls right before the election Bush was supposed to have an 8% lead. Our grassroots organization never gave up and Kerry took our state. So the morale of the story is, "Never give up no matter what."
