Canadians. About your investment system.
I want to move as much of my retirement investments to Canada as I am legally able to. Where do I start learning about your system? Which banks are honest and reliable and which brokerage firms? I don't trust my money in the USA anymore.

1. All our banks
are backed by the govt...there are no private ones. So they are all quite safe. We don't have bank failures.

Bank of Montreal, Toronto-Dominion bank, Royal bank of Canada, Bank of Nova Scotia.....these are all the old original names btw, they are all across Canada, not just in the places mentioned.

Wherever you are in Canada you can access your account as well...from anywhere to anywhere...either in a bank or at an ABM.

3. Wow, that sounds like a great banking system
Are the banking services subsidized? Or do they generate a profit that goes to the treasury?

4. Canadian Chartered
Banks are backed by the federal government to the extent that the government guaranties deposits to a max of $60,000.
They are publicly traded companies which trade on the TSX.

For further information on the exchange here is their web site:

Hope this helps.
