Good news and bad news
First the bad:

NO ONE is going to come save us -- or democracy, for that matter.

John Kerry isn't going to contest any of the election results and he isn't going to un-concede. None of our other Dem leaders are stepping up to the plate either.

We are on our own.

Now the good news: YOU'VE GOT THE POWER. We can do this. We MUST do this. We MUST save democracy and we must do it NOW.

Even if I'm wrong about Kerry, it simply will not do to sit around engaging in wishful/hopeful thinking in the meantime when we've got work to do. And if I'm wrong about Kerry, sitting around engaging in wishful/hopeful thinking is still wasting valuable, precious time.

We have to start by exposing the fraudulent election results. YOU have to help, at the very least by emailing all your friends and family members and asking them to email all theirs. The especially energetic and/or motivated among us can add media, bloggers, activist groups, Congress, etc.

The other good news: The work has been done for you. Here's a sample letter and some compelling links. There'll all here, in one of these 3 threads (take your pick):

URGENT: VOTE FRAUD? Tell everyone you know -- details

6. hey Eloriel

we didn't have any voting problems in this teeny little rural town in Western New York, so I don't have any personal experience to report.

What I wnat to know is, who to talk to about what I feel is a real priority--getting ourselves a Democratic Broadcasting Network.

All this running around contacting a million different agencies, boycotting a million different businesses, writing a million different LTTE's are a symptom of one problem: We have no one clearinghouse for getting out our message, in easy soundbites.

My post on this problem: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=2632024&mesg_id=2632024

You seem to be pretty aware of contacts and where/how to network; do you have any ideas of where I should send my idea?

8. I hate to be the purveyor of bad news . . .
but we lost. Resoundingly L-O-S-T. John Forbes Kerry lost the 2004 presidential election to George Walker Bush. No matter how difficult that is to hear or for me to type, it stands as true. And nothing you do, I do, or anyone else does will change it.

Which is why the Dems conceded the following morning. The figures just didn't make any sense to litigate.

It's not easy to come down from the high of so many months of campaigning and campaigning plus all this DU hype. But it is over until the next election cycle. And there will be another election. I've seen presidential elections since Harry S Truman in 1948. Yes, the sun does rise again in the morning.

You and others will have to accept it. :grouphug:

9. This stands as true. Accept this:
John Kerry may indeed have lost, but that is immaterial here. Unless the obvious, widespread, documented voter fraud is addressed, and addressed now, there will never be a fair election in this country. They have changed all the rules to benefit themselves and as long as we keep playing the game they've rigged, we will lose.

Oh, and the dems didn't concede the following morning. John Kerry did that on his own.

12. Guess what, TaleWgnDog
I don't give a shit about Kerry. I really don't. I voted for him, I'd have preferred to have seen him win, but this isn't about Kerry to me in ANY way. AFAIC, he can go suck a lemon. Or 10. As I said in my OP: he's NOT going to come save us from this galloping fascism and AFAIC he has made himself part of the problem. He bowed himself out, and we have to go on without him. I'm perfectly fine with that.

THIS is about our democracy, and our ability to preserve the right to EVER ever again actually elect the choice of the majority of the people (via electors). 'Cause right now, we no longer have that privilege.

It's about the horrific threat these auditless, paperless, totally opaque (as opposed to transparent) voting systems are, all of them manufactured by companies with strong ties to the rightwing nutcases and extremists INCLUDING Christian Reconstructionists. Don't believe me? Go google yourself.

10. Even more important than family and friends
is emailing people who don't normally get any dissenting point of view. You know, the people who send you the forwards that you immediately delete? With whatever reactionary bull is making the rounds? The ones that list whole pages of email addresses of people who have forwarded and reforwarded the message.

I used to delete these. Then I thought, what a waste of a perfectly good audience. So I began putting together simple, non-insulting, hard-hitting little refutations to whatever nonsense they sent my way. Cite it. Add a graphic graphic and URL. And then hit Reply to All.

I've had people write back to me,"I didn't know that - why didn't they tell us that on TV?" I've also had them outraged, but then so am I.

Wat

You might want to choose the links you include carefully, 'cause what I accumulated weren't screened. And there IS some really compelling data and info in some of those links.
