Anyone see this?...NewsMax Story about DU Online Poll
Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004 11:05 a.m. EST
Angry Dems: Bush Win Worse Than 9/11

The results of Tuesday's election have driven Democratic ultra liberals completely batty, with some now saying George Bush's victory was actually worse than the 9/11 attacks.

An online poll conducted by the Web site Democratic Underground found that 72 percent agree that Bush's re-election was the more devastating of the two events, with 28 percent who said it wasn't.

34. Careful how, though?
Lots of people have been posting their real names here. Brave of them, but I'm way too paranoid to do that.

One thing to watch out for, I think, is people figuring out where you work and then calling up your company with some made-up crap to get you in trouble. There have been incidents on Usenet in the past where people in a horribly vicious flame war tracked down someone's employer via an IP address on a post to the group. In one incident, they forged some posts to the newsgroup in the person's name, then called his employer and the cops. The posts contained threats of violence against the people who did the forging. Even though the poster was eventually exonerated, it was too late to save his job.

I don't read DU from work, period.

4. More people will die and the devastation will be more
widespread.

New Yorkers feel this way too (I am one). Everyone I spoke to said they felt exactly the same way as they did on 9/11 (disoriented, grief, disbelief), except that this time we knew that the country was not behind us--that they hate everything we stand for and that our family and friends who perished in the 9/11 attacks were USED by the chimp to scare the yokels into voting for him.

BTW...isn't Newsmax Brent Bozell's rag...the man whose son committed suicide because of his hateful homophobic father? Some family values y'all got there ;-)

30. Were we? What would bush be today, if 9/11 hadn't happened?
9/11 was Trifecta Day for dubya. Everything since then has played out the way it has because of the de-facto mandate he received on 9/11. He rode those terrorist attacks all the way to the 2004 election. Without the terrorists, bush would be remembered as the goofy dullard who alienated Japan by sinking a fishing boat with a submarine, the dumbass who got a spyplane back from China in a box, the nitwit who declared a landfill to be a National Historic Site. He was well on his way to being a one-term wonder.

9/11 really did change everything. There's probably still 10% of the electorate who supports him for no other reason than that he makes their scared little selves feel safe from the ay-rabs.

9/11 sowed the seeds of 11/3. Osama laughs at our stupidity.

25. it was a poll i believe, at first glance was offensive, in thought
there are angles. but then that is the difference between a democrat and a republican.

example, 3000 loss of life, how do you compare. well we can equally say loss of life with bush win

emotionally traumatic the out of the blue 9/11 attack, well i can see how someone could put the emotional trauma right up with with a bush win. especially if you see bush administration as we do.

so on thought the poll wasnt so out there, but i thought, wow, someone on other side see that they may have issue. in thought though, it is an interesting question

10. While they're at it, they should point out that NY and NJ voted for Kerry.
Edited on Sun Nov-07-04 08:27 PM by tjdee
The two states who lost the most in 9/11 voted overwhelming against "Great Protector" Bush.

I thought that DU poll was stupid and I didn't vote in it.
Being sick with worry over where my family and friends were that day was indeed worse than being saddled with an Assclown who probably has incited similar future events.

on edit:
I only hope I don't have to re-live that again. Thanks to Bush, I probably will, and I think that's what the poll was getting at.
I still thought it was stupid.

it's surprising they even care about 9/11. They certainly don't care how many non-Christians the bush administration kills in the rest of the world

20. The hell? If this election stands, it IS worse than 9/11
Even if this election turns out to be legitimate, and I doubt it will, it proves that a slight majority of the country would rather have someone they percieve to have high moral values in the office of President than someone who would do a good job. Bush has failed outrageously; his ineptness and inaction allowed 9/11 to happen, and he decided to go after Iraq unilaterally, silencing all dissent and evidence that condradicted his point of view, thus giving Al Qaeda the biggest recruitment tool they've ever had and further separating the nation down the middle as a result.

Putting this terrorist enabler back in office would be the biggest mistake in the history of the country, and don't you dare call me an ultra liberal left wing anything for my point of view, as I'm actually an independent moderate, but just because I view Bush's administration as the greatest threat to what the United States of America stands for, doesn't mean that I'm blind.

Any right wing rumor from any source, including email hoaxes are valid news stories for the mainstream media, as long as they attack the left or praise the right.

Trying to sell me a video. It is an unethical site, IMO.

I wouldn't doubt that the writer is so shallow and depraved that a scratch on his car would upset him more than losing his country.

29. The funny part is that 11/3 really was worse
The new spin, is that the empire is right, and the majority is
always right. If the majority supports concentration camps like
guantanamo, then it must be right. If the majority decides that
mass murder and grand larceny is right, then it must be. If
a minority perpetrates and election fraud to appear as the majority,
they must be right.

Newsmax, is a spinstation. Turn off the TV.
