1. This show of force will prove nothing

The rebels are already retaking the places that the US military "took back" last month. The rebels simply walk back in and kill all the Iraqi surrogates as soon as the Marines leave. The Marines serve no purpose at all, other than to kill a lot of people and make the "morals" people at home feel "safer".

too bad our enlisted loved ones have to do what they're told. Those in power are stupid.

3. Support the troops!

How many of these Iraqi will be beaten to death -- raped -- just this time the troops will make sure that there is NO evidence that can slip out for people in the US to see. Now we know the Iraqis will know that the torture is still going on -- probably in larger number than even Saddam imagined. He probably engaged in surgical torture -- who knows which story to believe.

All I know is that the images of the Iraqis on the road of death -- it was like shooting ducks in a barrel for the "troops".

Some of the troops are moral and will suffer for the rest of their lives for what they are going to do -- but the other sub-humans who will enjoy their job -- I really really hope there is a hell big enough to hold all the war criminals that are being newly minted in the next hours and days.
