Recent poll ~ 68% of Democrats can't name any Democratic candidate |
|
I don't have a link, just heard this on AM Radio news. 68% of all those claiming to be Democrats couldn't name a single person they knew of that was running for the office of President. This is what we are up against. These people watch Simpson's and Surviver but not news or any political shows. They could care less. They don't have a clue and as far as they are concerned things haven't changed much for them in a decade.

notorious for people who pay no attention to politics. Historically, it's not until AFTER Labor Day that people start paying attention, AND it is a LONG time until Election Day 2004. Usually, people don't pay attention to Presidential elections until after Labor Day in the election year, and NOT the year before that.

Someone else posted this poll a day or two ago.
Here's the worst part.
The percentage of Republicans who could name a Democrat running for president was higher than the percent of Democrats who could name a Democrat running for president.
And the even worsiest part ... the percent of Independants who could name a Democrat running was lower than the Republicans but still higher than the Democrats.
This is awfully hard to understand. You could maybe justify the Republicans because of higher average education level and incomes, more likely to listen to talk radio, but the Independants? I would have expected them to tune out politics till the very end.
Just proves again the Democratic Party does a lousy job of getting its message out.

10. I don't believe a word of it |
|
That same poll was all over television 2 months ago and they beat it to death then too. I think about 90% of people can't name one Supreme Court Justice and probably over 50% of people can't tell you who the vice president is.

11. If 50 % can't name the VP |
|
and I wouldn't doubt that you are right, then why don't you believe that 2/3 of Democrats can't name a presidential candidate?

16. That was just a guess |
|
from past experience - didn't mean to sound like it was a poll - in the past those have been pretty good figures. My problem with the poll is saying the Democrats cannot name even one candidate for president. 2/3 probably couldn't name all of them.

14. Survey was done at the local cemetary. |
|
Really, do you believe this foolishness? 69% can't name ANY Democrat who is running? If this isn't the work of Karl Rove, then I have no idea what is.
But this does point out a concern that I do have....if this is believed, how hard will it be for the public to swallow the headlines that "Bush wins in a landslide"?

18. And 50% of registered Democrats don't vote. |
|
All the more reason to take a look at who that 32% is supporting. Because they will be voting.

20. How could that possibly be true ?? |
|
With so much political talk on the news, talkshows, radio, etc? How could anyone not be able to name at least one candidate? Did they even know the name of the moron now residing in the WH? This has to ascribed to the media in this country. Any media worth its salt would be able to at least half-way inform the populace.
