BBV | BYTE the Media! | Spread the Word! | Brainstorm Here!
Edited on Mon Nov-08-04 11:02 AM by nostamj

In Bev Harris' big thread ("5 things you can do") she suggested that a separate thread be started to gather ideas for flyers, stickers, etc. and... here it is!

in the spirit of past ?W and BBV ("think chads were bad") threads, let's toss out ideas, refine them, and even provide graphic ideas to better illustrate the best of them.

Bev got things kicked off with her: "It's OK to Say the 'F' Word!" line which I incorporated into the button design (above) for BBV.org.

here's a couple of my thoughts:

IT DOESN'T ADD UP! | AUDIT THE VOTE!

AUDIT OR FORFEIT - How Do YOU Vote?

VOTING is NOT a FAITH-BASED INITIATIVE
DEMAND A RECOUNTABLE BALLOT

please add your ideas and/or riff on the input of others!

billyoc in another thread, talking about the assault that they're calling Phantom Fury, said it was about the same as *'s Phantom Mandate. I think that would be too cool as a slogan. It's like the Phantom Menace, too, for all those Star Wars fans out there.

19. an idea cuz U can do most of it @ home
those of U that walked precincts locally, maybe your own neighborhood, U still have the list...U better have the list - U know where the Dems R in your neighborhood. make door hangers - U can do it in MS word cuz I did it 4 a local candidate a month B4 the election. I made 400 on BLUE cardstock for less $10.00...the most tedious part was the cutting out the circle but U can find a circle punch @ a craft store and it goes faster.

U can get 2 columns on an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet. include links to relevant sites and some fraud facts that have been revealed.

Use your lists and get those door hangers out there.

Also those of U w/ the Kerry/Edwards plastic sleeve yard signs - turn them inside out - paint 'election fraud' on it and put it back out in your yard. The plastic sleeves here in CA are black inside and make a great back ground

Use what U got

30. Just one of those times.....
Count ALL the votes- it's the American way

Audit the election- because mistakes cause "fWaud"

Honest elections or dishonest president- which would you prefer?

Recount- because Democracy demands it

Computer counted elections = corporate controlled government

Prevent fWaud- Recount the vote

Borrowing from Bill Engval:

fWaud or recount- "Here's your sign" (I know, probably copyrighted)

Recount for Democracy- "Git 'er done"
(probably another copyright problem- you can tell the last comedy show we watched)

Elections- not just for the upper class- recount our votes

Recounting prevents presidential mistakes

Our vote, our government- we want a recount

Our vote, our property- and we want our property recounted

Recount- because balancing the books isn't just for financial accounts

Is voting the only counting procedure where we only do it once and call it good?

Recounts- because elections demand checks and balances too

The machines did WHAT!!
Count the votes, by hand.

Proof of outcome= hand recounts

No recount, no proof, no president

Evidence of vote, recount the vote by hand

Deception Elections

Fraud is spelled, "No recount"

34. Before the day gets away, short thoughts get the brain in gear....
Vapor Counting = Vapor President

Bush won?
Support that hypothesis
Show your work- hand count the ballots

No recount - No democracy

Hand recounts
Because Democracy is worth it

Computer Selection = Bad Election

First Term - Court appointed
Second Term - Computer selected
Can't this guy win a real election?
Recount

The computer counted my vote for me-
And it says I voted for Bush?

Bush won?
Check your work
Like any high school math student

Elections- The biggest numbers game around
And we can't recount the ballots?

Computer Counting - Illusions of Democracy

Fight for Democracy
Hand recount the ballots

No recount - No president

Voter trust demands it
Recount by hand

"Election projection" is not election protection - recount

Counting by computer
Selecting a president so you don't have to

Our vote
Our voice
Recount the election

Election protection - hand recounts

No proof
No president

Illegitimate count
Illegitimate president

45. WHO IS AMIT YORAN?
Nothing beyond these four words should appear on the sticker. This will COMPEL a certain number of people to google 'Amit Yoran' and find stories such as the one excerpted below.

E-voting is a HOMELAND SECURITY issue! What government data are more important than vote tallies? Yet apparently hundreds of counties use unsecured PCs connected by modem to precincts for vote tallying. Someone should interview Amit Yoran and Richard Clarke to get their views on electoral cybersecurity and what would have been possible for Republican vote hackers to accomplish last week.

From http://www.infoworld.com/infoworld/article/04/10/01/HNchiefresigns_1.html

"Update: U.S. cybersecurity chief resigns

Amit Yoran, said to be frustrated with progress, gives one-day notice

By Grant Gross, IDG News Service October 01, 2004

WASHINGTON - The head of cybersecurity efforts at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has resigned this week, leaving his job after reportedly giving a one-day notice. Amit Yoran, director of the DHS National Cyber Security Division since September 2003, gave notice Wednesday that he would leave the job Thursday, according to an Associated Press news report. Yoran, former vice president of worldwide managed security services at Symantec (Profile, Products, Articles) Corp., resigned because of a lack of priority for cybersecurity within DHS, according to the AP....

YORAN IS THE SECOND U.S. CYBERSECURITY CZAR TO RESIGN IN LESS THAN TWO YEARS. IN JANUARY 2003, WHITE HOUSE CYBERSECURITY CZAR RICHARD CLARKE RESIGNED, CITING FRUSTRATION WITH THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION'S LACK OF PROGRESS IN CYBERSECURITY. As recently as Thursday, Yoran appeared at a National Cyber Security Alliance press conference to promote October as National Cyber Security Awareness Month. Because of collaboration between private business and the government, "cyberspace is becoming a safer place," Yoran said at the Washington, D.C., press conference.

Software executives said they are disappointed that Yoran felt he had to resign. Yoran's resignation could be a setback in DHS efforts to improve cybersecurity, said Douglas Goodall, president and chief executive officer of RedSiren Inc., an IT security vendor. Yoran's job -- dealing with the "politics and competing priorities" in DHS -- was a tough one, Goodall said. The White House released a National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace in February 2003, and without a strong leader at DHS, that report could gather dust, Goodall said. "Our fear, our concern, is in fact this could create a delay in turning a strategy into action," he added."
