Is there a (news) War on Bloggers?
Now that I'm slowly going back to watching cable news (with the exception I never missed Keith Olbermann, my anti-Hannity-sanity!), I've noticed a disturbing trend by the GOP pundits to flick-off bloggers as a world of people out of touch with reality. They're still blaming the wrong exit polls on us!! Also, since we're not "regulated", we should be dismissed as unreliable sources of information.

The above comments were bits and pieces I heard over the weekend, and just wondering if anyone else is picking up the "scent" of Rovian Stink Tanks? And it doesn't sound very "uniting" to me :(

3. Welcome to DU.
And congrats on the gold star. Yeah, there's a definite "scent" of Rovian Stink Tanks (good name) in the air. I think the only way Bush is going to be a uniter is by uniting all of us under his banner. Like I heard a long time ago--a dictatorship is fine as long as you agree with the dictator. And Bush has stated he'd like to be a dictator, and I do believe that's where he's heading now that he's convinced he has the "will of the people". Who knows what he has planned for those of us who don't agree? Makes my heart sink to contemplate what he's about to unleash on us. Let's keep the blogs going until they shut us down. At that point, Democratic Underground may be underground in the classic French resistant meaning of the word.

God help us all!

5. Look I know we all love conspiracy theories
but you don't need Karl Rove pulling the strings for the Media to have this reaction. Bloggers are a threat to their power. So they are going to try to discredit us. But that's not really idealogical; there are plenty of conservative bloggers out there too. It's simply a matter of the mainstream media losing their control over the discourse--they have acted the same way towards Talk Radio for years (and Talk Radio, frankly, shares many of the same problems as bloggers).

6. To be expected. We're crazy conspiracy theorists
They're telling everyone to NOT LISTEN to us. It's the RIDICULE tactic. It won't work though because NUMBERS ARE NUMBERS. You can't lie about science. We're getting proof the election was rigged and this only proves that they're MEDIA WHORES just like we've been saying. From now on we're the media. They've drank the koolaid too many times now. They have ZERO CREDIBILITY.

7. I agree. Why all this spin?
And no one is telling the same story, all these different explanations, just like they gave for invading Iraq.

These people will regret what they have done. In destroying America they are killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

8. which is ironic since the bloggers didn't create the exit poll numbers.
They were only reporting the same numbers the mainstream media were seeing and not reporting.
