Give Terry McAuliffe a piece of your mind!
Got this in an email - sorry if this is a dupe. I told him he'd better fight the vote FRAUD, or he's going to lose many of us.

NGU.

Dear (CW),

I want to thank you for everything you've done over the course of this campaign. Time and time again we asked for your help, and you were always there for us.

Even though we didn't win back the White House, you created something historic. Our grassroots campaign of hope and optimism was unprecedented in American politics. More than 1 million volunteers made 11 million person-to-person, door-to-door contacts, and made 38 million phone calls to voter in battleground states.

If you were involved in these grassroots activities, we want to hear from you about your experience. What did you do? Did you feel the action you took was effective? Was it a good experience for you? How would you make it better?

Tell us your thoughts.

We plan to use your feedback to help develop our strategy in 2005. As always, you will continue to play a critical role in the future of the Democratic Party. What we created together will be the backbone for Democratic victories in the future.

You and I know that this fight is not over. We will never waver when it comes to defending our values and fighting for what we know is right.

Again, thank you for helping create something special.

Sincerely,

Terry McAuliffe
Chairman

1. I told him Sunday morning.

Can't remember everything I wrote but I did say that he should step down in favor of Howard Dean; stop the rightward drift; tell the DLC they're out of step with the party rank and file.

Something of that nature.

3. This is what I told him. For what it's worth ...
No more playing nice. No more trying to Republican Lites. We are on the side of progress, of modernity, of compassion, of reality. We need to be REAL progressives. If we continue to allow them to frame the issues, if we allow them to make us think we need to be more like them, then I fear, it will truly be the end of the Democratic party.

If any of the party leadership thinks that we need to be more like Republicans, then those leaders are out of touch. We do not want to "play along to get along". We are sick of it. They have declared war on too many of the things we hold dear and they are systematically oppressing too many Americans. I will not stand for it and I am not alone. If you do not understand how seriously many of us take this, then you need to get out and talk to us. We are ready to fight and we need leaders to help us. If we do not find them, we will become them.

5. Oh, he not only got a piece of my mind, he got
a major asschewin'! I explained to him that if the spineless Democrats didn't investigate voter fraud, I am leaving the party. I MEAN it.
